What a great rifle. Paid about $1K new. Astoundingly accurate, and I'm no expert shooter...

Mine looks like yours in the finish department. I suspect it has an electroless nickel coating, but have never found out what it really is. Mine is a 1:9 twist. If the new 700s are a 1:7 or 1:8, I’ll need to locate one.My 700 223 5R with Leupold 6.5x20 Mark4.
I have yet to mount my can on it.
Norma 77gr at 100 yds.
Only one range session with it so far, purchased last fall NIB.

same here....Great rifle. Wish I kept mine.
Don't feel bad. I lost significant money buying the coolest of the time, expensive rifle and scope also. I even thought about selling the 5R. Turns out, for some reason, I couldn't get better results with the new rifle, and sold it at a loss. Taught me an expensive lesson.I had one from about 2007 - 2010. It was ridiculously accurate for a factory gun.
Like an idiot I had a Broughton 5C in .260 screwed on because that was the coolness the time. Lost interest in it, and parted it out during a divorce.
Wish I had it back in stock form.
Did Mike do that for you?
No, he bought that on sale at Bass Pro.Did Mike do that for you?
Did Mike do that for you?
I thought so. Mike is the man and I’m extremely jealous. That's a @MikeRTacOps TacOps special. X-ray 51 with TacOps titanium suppressor.
