Using one as a stand in on an M24 clone. Its making contact with the barrel. Barrel is an m24/40 contour. Is this correct or an issue?

The little drop-down flex screws up front, or the whole thing? 0 moa or 20 moa model, long or short? I use one quite a bit for a thermal and see no contact forward of the action (Badger lug but rem varmint barrel).
Its a long action 0 moa rail. R700 m24 barrel contour with a badger recoil lug. I never used the the the forward screws, I never saw their use in the manual (pdf emailed to me). It floats until it gets to then side rails, then it floats again.
It looks like the long variant (not action length, rail overall length from PRI). It must be bowed. Its my understanding it should not contact prior to the set screws up front. Thermal clipon isn't heavy enough to flex it down but NV is. Does it float with the side rails off? Maybe the create a cross torque or something.
It sounds like the contact point is before the shank taper begins. Might be worth clarifying with PRI that it definitely clears that contour.
Yes and no. Had to order the straight model instead of the step down. PRI has had the straight model on backorder for a while.
Incompatible design, the step down rail isn't meant for an m24 profile barrel.
