I was chatting with SIG support today to confirm the warranty for RFs. They said that as of today it is still 5 years from the date of manufacture but they will be releasing new warranty info in the near future that will be better, but wouldn't give details as to what the new warranty will be or when it will be released exactly. He also mentioned that this new warranty will be grandfathered in for old purchases.

Also got in touch with EO and they said the warranty for SIG RFs is 10 years for electronics but had no other info available.
Anyone happen to know what the new warranty is?

I had a Kilo 2000 or maybe it was a 2200 die a hair before the 5 year mark. The display started to vanish, then it would come back dim, then be fine, then it would error no matter what I tried to range. Changed batteries, same issues. It was never dropped or rained on. Sent them an email and provided the data they asked for. I was told send it in since it's still under warranty.

I sent it in, they replaced it in about a week with whatever the current version is. I swear the old one ranged a hell of a lot better than the new unit they replaced it with. I could scan the area I shoot at in all light conditions and get readings. I ranged rocks and BS at 1800-2000+ yards with no issues. This new one will barely get rocks at 800. It's a little disappointing. While the CS and warranty was good. The new version sucks. Maybe it's defective, but it picks up my steel at the varied distances I shoot so it's just fine for target use.

I got in touch with SIG again, and per this guy the new warranty from SIG which is going to be released very soon will be lifetime including the electronics vs the 5 years for electronics in the past.

Not sure about a year old but anything purchased now will be grandfathered in per him. I'm taking this with a grain of salt and going to hold off on buying the RF for another month or so.

Sig fucked me once, a mulligan is out of the question on any product they sell.
Man I wish I was smart enough to only get fucked by them once. I have an MCX that would struggle to hit a dinner plate at 100 yds with match ammo, but met their 4 MOA accuracy standard (that evidently they test at 25yds and extrapolate) and an MCX that has never ran reliably. Add to that a BDX 3000 set of binos that thankfully I bought from Brownells with their forever warranty that started having problems ranging any distance, that I could replicate 5 minutes after they returned from Sig.

I've probably put more time and frustration into those two guns than all the other guns I've owned for the last 3 decades. Except possibly a Sako s20 that recently when Beretta admitted they were aware of a defective mag design on older guns but they would not replace the magazines with the new version, but instead offered me a 10% coupon so I could buy replacements from them.

Well it appears SIG has updated their warranty for LRF's to lifetime including electronics. I confirmed with SIG CS as well. I asked if the laser or any electronics fail after 10 years if it will still be covered under warranty and he said yes. They've also updated the website.
The CS was not able to tell me why it stills says Exclude Electronic components and what it actually means so not sure how I feel about that.
Please note that our Infinite Guarantee excludes coverage for intentional damage, misuse, cosmetic damage that does not affect the performance of the optic, loss, theft, or unauthorized repair or modification. Excludes electronic and Tritium components

Could just be an oversight on the "fine print" that will get changed. I'm not a lawyer but it's hard for me to conclude that a warranty that specifically states "Excludes electronic and Tritium components" instead means it covers electronic components with a lifetime warranty :) These days it seems like companies are changing their warranty policies almost yearly, sometimes for the better, others for the worse. Could be they are leaving that verbiage in to give them an out on a case by case basis, so if your rangefinder laser fails in 20 years they don't have to replace it.

All kinds of warranty games are played, one that's getting more common is that they will state a "Lifetime" warranty all over the place, but they then define what they feel the "Lifetime" of the product in question is in the fine print. So the "Lifetime" warranty for that product might only be 2 years.

If true it's good news, the weak link in most of these electro optic products is a very poor warranty. Most of these products no one is going to want to use without the electronics functioning. Sig was one of the worst offenders starting their warranty clock on date of manufacturer as well. It's probably not that uncommon in some shops for things to sit on a shelf for a year or two, so it's good they've at least improved that.
