That's no like it's the first time an update cause major outages on a worldwide scale....

A lot of companies are using crappy security software (e,g Sophos security suite). I'm the CEO of a security firm, and I can tell from first-hand experience that most IT people who are supposed to be a least knowledgeable of a few technical stuff (such as CTO/CSO), are only buying security solution if the brochures are looking cool.

They cannot care less if DEI is involved in the development process or If thousand of H-1B visa chimps are coding like crazy. They want what the cool kids are using or selling, and the crowdstrike folk are pretty goods in the marketing realm.

Only thing stupid about the money was me working there for it, for 6 years. But it was a leg-up to a much better job, and I made some good friends I still see. Now I'm doing better though, quite so.

Yeah, the old days were great with all the battles between the top sprinters, the top climbers, but then we saw a seated climbing stage with Cancellara manipulating what was likely a control button for a battery powered motor hidden in his frame, and it all went to shit. And Lance is a POS sociopath cheater too.

It was awesome to see the Manx Missile break Eddy's record this year!

As an old crit monger it breaks my heart to have witnessed the collapse of the sport here in the U.S., but it is what it is.

Hmm...wasn't it Bkackrock that shorted Trump just before the assassination attempt. Then the short was supposedly "an error".

What a better way to clean up "an error" than with a global computer patch? Look for crowdstrike folk/folks with magical new fortunes / or suicides with 2 bullets to there heads...

Didn't seem to have any impact down here in Louisiana.
Of course I don't use the Win365 online version.
Checked bank, Paypal, Amazon.
Watched Netflix while this was going on, wife went on a shopping spree around 11AM central, till about 2:30PM and had no trouble spending using a debit card from my bank.

My employer uses crowdstrike and we are still up and running because we test every update before pushing it out.

Just checked and we are still up and running because we do that. I took today off to go fishing and came back to this mess. Since I work in the cyber field the conversations on Monday will be epic!

My son (an avid gamer) told me this conspiracy. Trump avoids a headshot because he is using a hit-box hack. Deep state tries to patch it out but but their boi Crowdstrike screws it and here we are.


Seriously though, what businesses or websites are still out? A traditional Catholic website that I regularly view is still out. It's just those darn RTC's you know.
