Hello, wondering if any of you have tried this or have any knowledge regarding whether this would work to make CTR mags compatible with the KRG W3. I tried searching this and can’t find any info on it anywhere.

If I were to buy the W3 off their website for AICS mags since they don’t sell it specifically for the CTR mags, then bought the enclosed forend with ARCA rail separately for the CTR mags, would that accept CTR mags without any problems?

I ordered a Tikka T3x CTR and I’m waiting for it to arrive but I want to put it into a chassis with a folding stock. From what I’ve read the feeding just isn’t as smooth once you go to AICS mags so I was hoping to keep the CTR mags. I can’t find anything about whether the mag catch is different for the AICS mags vs CTR mags since that appears to be the only possible area where this might be a problem depending on if the designs differ.

Pretty sure they had a ctr at one point. It's available as the c4 chassis but that one isn't folding. Pretty sure they also used to have the W3 rear end available separately that you could add to the bravo to turn it into a W3.

I would contact them.

Ok so here’s what you do. I asked KRG this question a while back.

Buy a CTR-only Bravo. Then navigate to the TRG Accessories area of KRG’s site. There you’ll find the TRG buttstock, which is the W3 buttstock that fits the front CTR chassis.

Attach and you’re done.

I cut up a W3 forend to work on mine and it kind of worked. I think it would have gone better if I tuned the feed lips, and did a mag catch tune up as well. CTR compatible back bone, W3 folder rear, opened up W3 forend:

Thanks for that, sounds simple enough. That’s what I think I’ll do.

If anyone else was wondering I did email KRG about my original post and they told me that the parts are not compatible with each other (W3 AICS-only mags with ARCA-Enclosed CTR mag Forend) so it wouldn’t have worked anyway. Bravo with TRG buttstock sounds like the way to go.
