Vortex Gen 3 6x36 turret removal

Hi guys, just ordered turret spacers for my vortex Gen 3 6x36. Does one of you know how to remove the turret so I could install the spacers ??

Can't find anything on the subject anywhere 😞

Thanks 👍
You don’t and can’t remove the turret. What spacers did you order? O rings should slip right over. Other spacers should stretch to fit around the turret.

Ok guys, the spacer I got is solid plastic with a screw. I absolutely need to remove the existing black ring that's there or else I cannot use it. I really need to remove the turret and the black ring to install my MK Machining spacer. I cannot find anything on the subject on the web. I wrote to mk machining and still waiting for an answer. I will also write to vortex if I don't get an answer on this forum

No you are not to remove the turret or the parts under it. It goes over the black part. Just like the O-rings people used to use. You are not understanding what people are trying to tell you. You do what you want you will damage your scope. DO NOT TAKE ANYTHING APART.

Ok but if I install it over I will not see the rotation indicator anymore since 2 rings will be too thick no ?

No. The spacer goes between the turret and the body below with the indicator on it. You take nothing apart. Look down at post 336 at the link below and you will see how another version looks.

Ok.....you guys are obviously talking about a smaller spacer. Here's a pic of my spacer.....

Damn never seen anything like that before and see no reason the need for it unless possibly if it has a small inner ring on the top to slide into the groove when the turret is unlocked. If not I would return it as it serves no purpose as the black ring on the scope is not going to be removed.

Why would you ask a technical product question to anyone other than the product manufacturer?

If something gets jacked up, you're going to expect that product manufacturer or Vortex to fix it. Don't put you or them in that situation.

I sent mine to Vortex and they sent it back within 10 days with a more positive detent that I can’t lock unless I push down hard on the turret. That’s far better solution than these slip on things.

It will open up, and slip into place. Can be locked down with the "indicator" line at your 0. With the turret pulled up it'll kinda snug into place.

If you need, call into the shop tomorrow and Tony can walk you through it, but it's pretty simple. 573-206-9335. We may have a pic or video on the socials too.

Doesn’t appear to have a cut out for the rev indicator?
