Confused: Top Split Rings Bad but ADM Recon Good?

I understand that top split scope rings are bad but also that the ADM Recon scope mount is good.

Since I am not smart I cannot hold these two competing thoughts in my head.

Please help.

OK...I may be uninformed...but why would top split rings be bad? I have a 243 with some Warne's holding a Leupold and have never had any issue. Maybe 20 or 25 years there. I haven't heard of this before.

Now...I'm no tactical shooter and no super pro so I'm really asking....wtf? over.
