This was on national Forrest. I had no idea if I was even allowed to shoot it.
Out in the wild they look much bigger than they are. One reason is they flatten themselves out so they look really wide. Even the small ones could do damage lol
I'd have a better season drinking coffee on your porch and shooting them than I do burning a thousand gallons of diesel and a set of tires like I do now.This guy was laying around and sunbathing after a meal on the hill where I do most of my shooting from the house. My only problem was that he was facing me head-on at ~260 yards, and the winds were already pretty high. I misjudged the distance at 275 and dialed accordingly for that.
Waited until the swirling breeze was at my 6 o'clock, and l let fly.
Caught him about a tenth higher than I wanted, but all he did was roll over and raise his head for a few seconds and mouth at the air before succumbing.
The 130gr ELD-M out of my 6.5x47 did work. Hopefully I got it on my Triggercam. Will post a video if it turns out worth a crap.

First shot was far back, I walked up to around 20 yards and he picked his head up and looked at me. Finisher was nearly centered between the eyes, didnt exit. 55 vmax from a 223.
Well the lapua was getting an oil change and tires rotated, but we’ll see if we can’t maybe completely prairie dog mist one for ya one of these nights! lol

Shot this pig a few days ago. Got the ‘yote this morning. Berger 85.5gr Hybrid launched at about 3015fps from my hunting weight .22GT. 300 yards. Had to hold .5 mils wind. Same load for both the pig and the ’yote.

Man that is wild, I never thought about the age. I killed one earlier this year because she was feeding on a fawn. She was all grey face and had a cattle tag in her ear which was wild.
