Best iPhone case/holder for somebody that is rough on phones?

I used to rely on otter box cases as well :) I also while work outdoors daily, but they're too bulky for me and they're also prone to wear and tear over time... One day, I lost my phone after the clip snapped. I switched to https://inarascases.com/ and they’ve been a game changer, honestly. They’re rugged, lightweight, and the belt holster holds securely, even during intense activity. Perfect for an active lifestyle.

suspicious activity spotted. but he's right about otterbox haha
I mean yeah, if you want to carry a rubberized brick around in your pocket. But, they do come with that functional and fashionable belt clip. 🤮

But, really? Wouldn’t change for $1,000,000? Hell, I’d wrap my phone in aluminum foil, like a Chipotle burrito, for $1,000,000. If I broke it, I’d buy another one with cash.

Otterbox is garbage.

I went through 3 of them in one year not that long ago on one phone.

Best phone cases bar none that I have ever used are these generic chinese metal cases. They have a think rubber layer with bumpers all around the sides the phone sits inside of, then two metal shell halves that bolt together sandwiching the rubber section between them.

Can literally throw the phone across a room or bludgeon someone to death with it.

Next best I've found are Juggernaut Cases if you want to have mounting capability for chest rigs etc. They only make them for certain devices however.

I have this case and it is bulletproof. (Not literally.)

My Otter boxes worked perfectly except that one time when My Droid fell off my Harley at about 85…

BUT I was able to collect enough fragments that my Verizon insurance paid for all of it *and* recovered all the data.

So there is that!

Sirhr
Better than having the roller press it into the asphalt mat! After that I invested in a better vest with sealable pockets. 🤦🏼‍♂️

I’ve used otter box, and lifeproof. Both were great for protection, but both utterly destroyed the ergos of the phone. The OB’s rubberized exterior made phones difficult to both pocket and extract. And, it eventually ripped around the ports. And, the ginormous case turned a svelte phone into a brick. The LP’s screen protector was hot garbage- and ruined the best aspect of an iPhone, a responsive touchscreen. And, it eventually delaminated from the case, negating the waterproof aspect.

Anymore, I go with a minimal case and a glass screen cover/protector. For how I use them, that splits a good balance between drop resistance and phone functionality.

And, phone case prices are almost as ludicrous as phone prices. There’s a point where it’s just “good money after bad.”

Cheap magsafe, maybe $25. Drop my phone on a daily basis...tile, dirt, concrete, you name it. Grandson sometimes gets it and uses for a teething ring. Granddaughter has been know to throw it 10 or more feet. I have the screen protector replaced at least every other month. Phone still looks new.

I used to need a new phone due to damage every year and a half. I switched to a good size leather wallet about 5 years ago. My phone tucks into the center pouch snugly. Dropped this setup I don’t know how many times.

I think some/many people would be better off with a cheap case equipped a lanyard loop. “Dummy cord” the phone with 1.5-2 ft of paracord (whatever is long enough to be useful, but less than leg length…).

I better run and patent that idea. 🤣

I don't know which Otterbox I have for the 15, but it sucks ass for protecting the camera lenses. The little "protectors" you buy stick out to far because the case is so thin. Otherwise, it's done a decent job protecting the phone.

They just don't make robust cases anymore because everyone wants sleek and svelte.
