Endeavor to persevere.

ThanksNice! Can you post photo of the Rt side of the rear mount? 1" tube?
Scope came today. I was nervous when the box appeared, it has been through hell and back a few times on the way to me.Looks great!
Thank you, I’m hoping it will be complete soon!Very cool project
I always teased we were gonna have the dogs stuffed when they died. She doesn’t don’t is as funny as me.Does your your wife know you killed her manx cat and mounted it ? Keeping it hid in the gun room/man cave ???
I know, it's not a manx.... it's a bob...
That does look great!I know I posted the auction photo of the take off stock, but those photos don’t do it justice. This thing is sharp, has a few “character” marks, but dang I’m impressed. I think this is the stock I should have purchased from the beginning. One of those things that sing to you and let you know it’s right View attachment 8464552View attachment 8464553
I’m a little more excited with every update for sure.Hell yeah
Went with a 20 inch 308, just cause I don’t have a 308 in the stable currently. What caliber did you go with? Be nice to see it back in the stock with the scope on.
That’s what she said lol.Gotcha! Looks like a 26 in the vice.
Nice rifle and project I have enjoyed following this thread.
Been staring at and researching over Peter Hathoway Capsticks pre 64 M70 300 H&H that is up for auction right now.
Sure as hell can't afford it but what piece of history it would be to own it.
Here you go, a real piece of M70 history.Where the hell is that because I want to look.

I don't believe there is actually anything particularly special about the rifle in its as built trim since it's not a super grade with high end walnut with ebony tip and grip cap and all that fancy stuff. All those safari grade shooters are high. He don’t want a gun that will give him aids.Ok fine, if you really need a m70 heavy on the “ish” I will sell you this one for $22,999

Probably chambered in 30-06 too ain’t it
Well damn, I was hoping this build would make us internet homeboys. Guess the bar is higher than I imaginedAt least he will be getting aids and only aids, unlike your build that you are picking every bad decision and failure piece by piece, it’s like aids then rubbing som clap on it, then sprinkling crabs and warts on top

Just referring to any of the current pre 64 safari labeled guns and the high/higher prices than a regular one.I don't believe there is actually anything particularly special about the rifle in its as built trim since it's not a super grade with high end walnut with ebony tip and grip cap and all that fancy stuff.
It's just because of who owned it and the history and story behind it.
Honestly the rifle you are currently building will most likely be dressed out with a higher degree of fit and finish than the one I mentioned.
It's like comparing an old winchester lever action in mint condition with no history to an old beat up one of the same model owned by John Wayne.
Thank god, I’m kinda short. High jumping was never my strong suitLower, lower... he's describing him & his, moderately...
I like it, I have two. One is ready to go the other is waiting on a McMillan stock. It’s gots some color!!! Almost got a chubby thinking about it. The stock next to it is not mine, it is for another project that will probably make the m70ish look like a dumpster find View attachment 8515237
