M40 Raffle fundraiser for Scout Sniper Heritage Foundation memorial!

The Marine Scout Sniper Heritage Foundation is having a fundraiser to help build an epic memorial that will honor our fallen US Marine Scout Snipers and their families for their unwavering devotion.

The memorial will feature two Marine snipers that served 105 years apart. Details of the planned memorial can be seen here: https://scoutsniperheritage.org/memorial/

The fundraiser is centered around the raffle of a period correct clone rifle and scope that duplicates the original and iconic M40 sniper rifle.
The components for this project were almost impossible to get and the rifle is being built by an actual MOS 2112 Precision Weapons Technician.

You are welcome.

I am not sure about if or how they are affiliated.
I do know there are some common people between the two as far as who is volunteering to rotate in and spend time volunteering to work. Almost all are prior SS with some even having a stint instructing or running one of the schoolhouses.

I'm sure that if you cannot find it on their web pages, they would not hesitate to answer any questions you might have relating to those two entities.

I read up their site. The 2023 Annual Report and Mission Statement explain it.

Independent subsidiary of SSA focused or heritage and history. Immediate goal is getting the monument built.

@Terry Cross, thank you for starting a MSSHF raffle rifle thread! 100% of the money raised from this raffle rifle is going directly to funding our Scout Sniper memorial. The raffle rifle is going to be amazing, but it hasn't been assembled yet. I donated the entire rifle to the MSSHF for this rifle raffle, but it's currently in individual parts (which I just had professionally photographed by my father).

The Redfield green scope, Redfield 40X scope base, Redfield 1-64 marked rings, Remington barrel, Remington wood stock/bottom metal/buttplate are all original USMC used M40 take-off parts from 1966! The only civilian parts on the clone build are the Remington 6 digit receiver (223xxx serial number), bolt, and trigger. Now that the original USMC M40 parts have been photographed, I'll be mailing them to a 2112 armorer tomorrow. The 2112 will be using the original USMC M40 parts and period correct civilian parts to assemble an epic USMC M40 clone rifle!

The photos of the rifle on the MSSHF website are just placeholders until the M40 clone is finished being built. The rifle in the photos is actually an original USMC M40 sniper rifle that's in my personal collection (Major Dick Culver's M40). Sorry gents, but I didn't donate that original USMC M40 to the MSSHF, and all of this information is towards the bottom of the raffle rifle page. Even though the raffle rifle is a clone build, I can promise everyone that it's going to be one of the absolute best USMC M40 clone rifles to ever be built! There's about $15,000 worth of parts being used in this M40 clone build, and the finished rifle will have an estimated value that's pretty close to $20,000! If anyone wants an epic M40 clone rifle for their collection, this is a very unique opportunity to acquire a very special M40 clone (while also supporting the MSSHF's memorial project)!

Once the M40 clone is completed in the next few weeks, we'll update all of the photos on the rifle raffle page. We're also planning on doing a video review of the rifle, which will be awesome! So, please keep checking the raffle rifle page in a few weeks and you'll see the updated photos of the actual USMC M40 clone that's being raffled.

The rifle was finally built this past weekend by USMC 2112 armorer SSgt Jake Meyers! It took a while, the hurricane definitely messed stuff up for us, but we have everything built into the best M40 clone ever made! SSgt Meyers did an unbelievable job turning a pile of original circa 1966 USMC used/surplus M40 take-off parts and a circa 1966 civilian Remington M700 receiver into one of the most amazing M40 clones in existence! SSgt Meyers is one of the best USMC 2112 armorer out there, and he's the only 2112 who knows every tiny detail about every single M40xx variation from 1966 to the current issue rifles (and he's able to build all of these M40xx rifles 100% to their original specs)!

This M40 clone build is an unbelievably amazing rifle that was build by an amazing Marine 2112 armorer with original USMC M40 parts, so it doesn't get any better than this for collectors! There's about $15k in parts to build the rifle, and the completed rifle is probably worth around $20k with this provenance. Don't miss out on this one, we're never going to raffle off another circa 1966 M40 clone like this ever again!

We even used the original Remington "US" rollmark from 1966 to mark this receiver! Jake made a rig to mark Remington 700 receivers in the correct location! This is a first for an M40 clone and it makes the rifle that much better!!!

And we also decided to add a CMP military surplus 1911 pistol as a 2nd place prize!!! I also donated this pistol,
and I think it's a great 2nd place prize that matches the 1966 M40 clone pretty well! Here's photos of the actual 2nd place prize pistol in this raffle:

No, unfortunately. This raffle is for eligible US citizens only and the guns can only be shipped to an FFL here in the US. However, maybe you have a friend here in the US that purchased tickets and won a guns in this raffle. There's nothing stopping that person from filling out the ATF's 4473 paperwork for the Title 1 firearm, and then a while later deciding to sell the gun to someone in a different country and doing the proper export paperwork for that gun.

I'm just saying that there's always a way to legally do things, but there's only so much that our organization can do on our end. There's no way for us to give the prize to someone who isn't a citizen and there's no way for us to do export paperwork. My suggestion is to have a chat with a friend here in the US and look into the import/export laws for both countries. I purchased a Glock P9M from a collector in Europe this summer, and even though the ATF approved the import a few months ago, it still can't be shipped to the US for a few more months because it's still working it's way through European export regulations. So, it's possible to send the guns overseas, but it's not something the MSSHF (or the SSA) can do with these raffles rifles/pistols).

I appreciate your question though, I'd be asking the same thing if I were in your shoes! Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Well gentlemen, I just received an update from Tim (the MSSHF CEO), and he quickly checked the numbers to see how many people have purchased tickets. So far, only about 860 individuals have purchased tickets to this raffle! That's it, a very low number of people buying the MSSHF M40 raffle tickets compared to the 10's of thousands of people who entered into other online raffles and sweepstakes! If most people purchase the 8 ticket package for $75, then under 7k tickets have been sold. Compare this to the other online raffles that sell 10's of thousands of tickets and the online sweepstakes that give away hundreds of millions of draws! This means that each person who purchased tickets for this MSSHF M40 raffle has far better odds of winning this raffle, when compared to other online firearm raffles/sweepstakes!

This is probably one of the smallest online firearm raffle that anyone will take part in, and it has one of the best grand prizes ever offered (even beating out high value prizes that large companies put up for raffles/sweepstakes)! Someone is going to have an epic day tomorrow when they win this $20,000 USMC M40 sniper rifle!
