Hey ya'll,

Im planning a trip to the high desert with my brothers and wanna load up some fun pills. On hand, ive got a mess of M25 tracers pull downs, some military once fired 308 cases converted to 300 savage, and primers.. but im not finding any info on what powder would fit the use or any load data at all for COAL or charge weights.

Anyone tried this able to chime in at all with some knowledge to share?

I don't shoot the 300 Savage.
But max load data for the 149.7 gr 1.440" long M25 tracer COAL 2.600" is as follows:
IMR 4895 36.5 GR
IMR 3031 34.5 GR
W 748 37.0 GR
RL-15 37.0 GR
The bullet being longer than most 150 gr bullets, takes up a bunch more powder space for tracer material, so max loads will be down from normal max 150 gr loads, plus FMJ have a higher start pressure.
Work up to the above loads a few grains lower.

Appreciate the response; is this data for the 30 savage or a different caliber with M25s?

It's for 300 Savage only, as per Original Post, similar to a short 308 win usually chambered in a box magazine Savage leveractions, that could handle fairly good pressures for the times when they were popular, some bolt guns were also chambered.

There were old 303 Savage rifles along with the 30 Remington rifles, these are low pressure cartridges to complete with the 30-30 Win back in the day, "Definitely Not" for those cartridge.
