I didn’t find any threads on this, but it looks like MDT is teasing their release of a new stock on YouTube. Anyone have any information on it?

@MDT_Josh how well does the integral ARCA rail hold up since it's carbon fiber?
My HNT26 has been solid. My first forearm was too skinny and would slip while shooting, but my replacement locks-up tight. It's constantly in and out of a tripod head without any issues yet.

I would have preferred a little more vertical grip and a forend parallel to bore. BUT, at 27oz with integral arca rail, adjustable comb, and adjustable LOP, there's a lot to like there.

Hard pass. Same price as a folding HNT26 by time you add the bottom metal and weighs the same too. Or a Manners with mini chassis can be had for $500 less.

I have a feeling they’re going to be dropping the price on these like Zermatt recently did with their overpriced chassis. IMO this is a $1000-$1200 stock WITH bottom metal.

My CRBN has been great, in and out of a tripod clamp a ton and no issues on the arca rail. I too wanted a more vertical grip when I first saw it but it actually feels really nice in hand. It's a really nice chassis to shoot, feels nothing like the HNT 26 (I have a folder and love it for different uses), it's super damp.

For the EH6-A, which is probably the most comparable stock, it was $1295 on the manners website stock builder, with DBM mini chassis. Not sure if there are distributors with cheaper, but according to manners website this is the same price.

Edit:minus the bottom metal of course. Forgot that. So still more expensive

Im also disappointed with the pricing. I’ve been debating/waiting on this to be released to see how it compares to the manners LRH.

If they don’t lower the price or give better deals to distributors, then I’ll probably end up with a LRH and save $500

The price is higher than we were hoping for too, but the majority comes from the time and labour required to build a stock like this! The fit and finish on all of these components is above and beyond everything else on the market right now, and don't get me wrong, Manners and AG composites make incredible products.

We're already working on ways to make this more economical and offer more in the future!

Their website says it's $1,500 with the bottom metal... Damn...I like it, but I don't know if I like it that much. I can get a Manners carbon fiber lightweight stock decked out with all the options for that price...

Make sure to include the trigger hanger notch for actions like the Solus that have a hanger setup. It's just a simple little notch that would take 30 seconds with a CNC machine, but most everybody refuses to put it in their production process. It would increase sales a lot, and would put you ahead of most everyone else in the market having that simple little notch as a standard feature so the customers don't have to take a Dremel to a brand new $1500 stock.

I'm guessing if they are backordered 52weeks the prices aren't an issue.

1299 vs 1100 for the Manners isn't a huge markup. Especially if you want to add a full length arca to the Manners.

There's dealers where you can get the manners LRH with mini chassis and bottom metal for $1150ish.

The MDT CRBN is $1600 with bottom metal.

I suspect the 52 week lead time is only for the plain (non painted finish). The painted ones have an 8-12 week lead-time. Probably every CRBN stock they make will need to be allocated to the far more popular painted option orders until they are caught up and then offer the plain option again.

Comparing no-name bottom metal to mdt's newest release isn't fair. You can find a magpul m5 bottom metal for $65'ish if cheap is all you care about.

Then you are still buying from the manufacturer vs a vendor. Manners will sell you a stock at full retail. Vendors will give deals. I'd expect once vendors have these is hand they will be offering deals as well.

Apples to apples they aren't that far off in pricing.

I haven't specifically looked at the bottom of a Solus, but it is a very similar action geometry to the Ultimatum Deadline, and assuming that it has a similar trigger hanger design, all of our modern R700 inlets will accommodate this without issue!

I hope this is some kind of misprint 😳

We have allowed up to 1 year of backorder on this product based on current production estimates. We acknowledge that we are not producing these as fast/efficiently as we would like right now and are going to work as hard as we can to maintain quality and reduce that lead time as much as possible! As someone pointed out above, the plain Black Carbon Fiber is the longest lead time as they are the hardest to nail consistently for finish and fit, so the painted variants would be the ones to order if you're hoping to get it sooner :)

I'm sure you guys will get it figured out. Seriously doubt I'll be ordering anytime soon since it's outside the budget right now.

At that price, let the first gung-ho go ahead and buy them, and then once that happens, they’ll probably always be in stock. Then pick one up on holiday inventory blowout sale for like $750… 😂

I’m a big MDT fan, and want one for my Christensen FFT 20” 7mm-08 that is my main hunting rifle, but $1,500 with bottom metal is not happening.
