Sidearms & Scatterguns So here is a potential good deed... Buy Yourself a Christmas Kukri!

in today's world of disposable consumer items (i hate it), it so cool to find out about products that are made by hand and that you can give and expect to be heirloom sort of possessions instead of tossed away or sold for a couple bucks at a yard sale.

of course it comes at a cost, but i am happy to pay and even happier if i can pass on some respect for craftsmanship to my nephew.

just for shits i googles chinese kukri knives. 15 bucks.
I agree 100%

The included bio on the actual builder was very nice.

The concept of ordering from them was awesome and I thank the OP as I'd never heard about them prior to this thread. Passed it around among friends too.

In today's throw away society, full of people who cannot fix things or even troubleshoot problems, finding folks who can actually build things, or repair things is refreshing imho.

I try to support the people like myself who actually DO the work in the world.

Took a while but it finally came in today. Couldn’t be happier, amazed at how well balanced it is.

That looks like the Mini Raw Panawal, very nice!! I almost ordered that one, but ultimately decided on the KHHI Mini (Prince). Here are the stock photos. I will post actuals when it arrives sometime in Oct/Nov.

Just wanted to give an update:

Ordered: Sept 1st
Shipped: Sept 28th
Arrived: Oct 10th

It actually arrived at the local DHL depot on Monday Oct 4th and they put it on hold until Friday then the DHL finally made delivery Sunday afternoon.

The knife looks exactly like the stock photos. I will take some glamour shots this weekend. I did not have any add on or other options, just the basic knife and leather sheath. I did heed others advice an unwrap it outside as they do slather it up in a smelly preservative. Overall I am very happy with the purchase and feel it is well worth the money!

If you want one of these for yourself or to give as a Christmas gift I would place an order VERY soon!

So over the past 5 years, the UK Government has decimated the Gurkha Regiments. They are down to 1 from, I think, 5. This is a massive hit to the men of Nepal. But also to their traditional Kukri makers.

A real Kukri is less than $100 delivered....

This helps folks eat. It preserves a craft. And the knives are gorgeous. See it done.

Now think about getting yourself a cool stocking stuffer. A great all around knife. And an amazing piece of history.

Not affiliated with this company. Getting nothing. But I have one that I ordered several years ago and they were outstanding. And I think the Gurkhas are amazing, lethal warriors whose traditions are inspirational. Maybe someday, the weenie UK will realize how much these warriors matter. But until then, they are going to be adrift. And for what a few boxes of ammo cost, you can have a piece of history and maybe help keep a factory running.

Send a Merry Christmas to some hard workers!

Sirhr

Are these still the people to order from or have things changed?

Looking to grab one as a Christmas gift.
