Rifle Scopes Mk12 Scope for Modern Times

The KAC Viper ring appears to be the picatinny rail on the front, I was referring to the RMR mounted on the rear ring
If it’s a KAC mount, KAC makes a modular ring half that mates to plates in various footprints including RMR. Looks like it’s offset to 45° too, which the KAC modular scope cap can do.

I choose a Razor G3 1-10x for my Mk12 build and I am very happy with that scope.

Ended up buying an NXS 2.5-10x42 and throwing it on my Mod H(ish) build. After fooling around with a few scopes in this Mag range, I think that SFP is better for this magnification range, in combination with 5.56. The reticle is still useable at low power, unlike a FFP variant, in my opinion.

Picked up an NXS 3.5-15x50 F1, with the H58 reticle in the PX a couple days ago. I plan on putting that on my Mod 0.

Good choice

I’m having this discussion to complete a ModH. For me, it comes down to intended use.

My current take from my limited experience. YMMV

For a competition rifle (2gun and run and gun) , I prefer fixed parallax and small objective. I find it’s easier and faster to get accurate fire down range with the fixed parallax and smaller, lighter scopes are easier for me to maneuver through obstacles, etc . For me the NXS 2.5-10 is a nice scope and useable to 600 yards pretty easy if I run a piggyback and make up shots are allows. The SFP doesn’t seem to limit me as much as the targets are generous, though I see the advantage of FFP so I also use 1-8 and 1-10 FFP scopes and find them perfectly acceptable. Edit. I have actually moved to competing with these LPVOs with capped turrets and a reticle I can just hold with, but I believe they limit what I can get from the rifle if I have time.

I’ll start with I don’t own either of these, yet but If I was using my mod0 or the ModH in a DMR type match my current choices are either a ATACR 4-16x42 or the MK5 HD 3-18, also with piggyback red dot. I believe a 15x is scope has enough magnification to exploit the usable range of the rifle/ammo (77s) and still have good FOV and a size that appeals to me. Locking turrets are nice as well. I’m not sure how the parallax would mess with my sight picture. I did not like the variable M3 for this as it really slowed me down. I’m curious if the more modern units may give me a more focused sight picture and I could just remove parallax with scope shadow if I needed to quickly. I’d like to get behind the March 1.5, and I wouldn’t turn down another NXS F1.
