I hope this isn't against the rules. If so let me know.

It's that time of year again where the Boyscouts sell popcorn to raise money for Troop outings, supplies and trips. My son is a member of Troop 8 here in Columbia SC. In fact he is on this months cover of Scout Life Magazine. He's the one on the right in glasses paddling his heart out.

If any of you outdoors men and outdoors women would be interested in supporting Jackson and Troop 8 or are popcorn fans please use the below link. Any popcorn ordered will ship directly to you from campmasters who run the popcorn program for all of Scouting. And Jackson will get credit for your order. If you would prefer to donate to his troop directly my son's Troop's venmo is @troop8Columbia

Thanks for reading this far and for hopefully supporting Scouting and Jackson!

When my son was in scouts a couple years ago it was embarrassing to tell the prices of some things. They had cans of cashews (the ones that are $5 in the store) for something like $45. But it's a fund raiser to support the local scout troop. Yes they are expensive but 70% of the proceeds go straight back to the troop and the individual scout gets a portion too. Our pack was able to pay for 2 camp outings and a baseball game for no cost to the scouts plus some to the individual scout to pay for camps that werent covered.

As far as girl scout cookies go, those things sell themselves. People can't wait for the cookies to come out and they stock up. I guarantee that the profit more because of volume.

Just remember supporting the scouts helps keep kids grounded and connected to the outdoors. Not just inside watching TV and playing video games. There are also many kids that can't afford camp and these fund raisers help them so they can attend.
