Schmidt Bender Price Reduction

Always heard nothing but great things about their scopes but have never owned one.

In the market for a couple of scopes. One to go on a 6.5 for long(er) range plinking and maybe dabbling in some competitive shooting, the other a longer range hunting scope.

I really like the 50mm obj. on a hunting scope. Just looked at the zenith line, it appears that they are in 3-12 with a fixed parallax.

Any good options, from those of you with experience with them, in a FFP, lighter weight, large enough elevation turret to dial, with a top end magnification in the 15-18 range?

The new Meta is a really nice scope, lightweight and compact with adjustable parallax though not FFP like the Zenith.
For long range/competition, 6-36 PMII.

When the new LPI models came out, the 5-20x and 3-20x were bumped way up. That's why until recently, most of that were sub-$4k were/are the older model with separate illumination knob. Only the 6-36x stayed mostly sub-$4k

Nah there’s some prime day “sale” fuckery going on too. The 3-12x42 base price is higher than it was 2 weeks ago too.

Pretty sweet that it was under $1k but the base was $13xx not the $15xx it currently states

Snagged the klassik 2-12x42 with the bcc turret and p3l reticle. Haven’t been to pleased with the old gold ring vx3 the last few years so I’m hoping this is a nice upgrade.
The Klassik 3-12x42 is one of my favorite hunting scopes. At that price, I'll have to add another. My new lightweight hunting rifle needs glass.

Have you found that the fixed parallax is an issue (or non-issue). Do you know where it is approx set at?

Interesting thought. I was going to pick up one of those but chickened out fron their insurance policies. Now that I thino about it, I was considering one before the sale and I don't think they were anywhere near the 1700 it shows on my end, else I wouldn't have bothered considering it.
