BLUF: looking for pros / cons and differences between Anschutz's 1727 AI AT-X and 54.18 AI AT-X.

I'm very new to rimfire. I have a centerfire AI AT-XC and am looking to get a rimfire trainer. I am looking for some help in describing the differences between the 1727 and 54.18 Anschutz AI rifles? What makes the 1727 action/rifle $1600 more than the 54.18?

Thank you.

The 1727 is a push pull action. It was developed to support the harsh environment of the Biathlon circuit where it rules. It is strong, fast and really really cool. The 54:18 was developed to compete in the US metallic silhouette circuit and European running boar circuit. It was an off shoot of their match 54 action which is highly accurate. Both actions are capable of great accuracy. One is a bit faster and really cool, the other extremely strong, reasonably fast and slightly less cool. The triggers 5018 vs 5020 are the same with different springs ( which can be changed).
Accuracy will be the same, from the factory they come with the same barrel. The 1727 is a more limited production action and is more expensive. I have both actions, my 1727 in the AI and 2 54:18 actions ( one in original silhouette stock and the other in a BR stock).
So it is up to you both superbly accurate. I am thinking of taking one of my 54:18s and putting a new Bartlein barrel on it and dropping it into the red AI. Two is always better than one🤣
