Are we supposed to believe Mark Kelly?

Trump did blast mcstain. He was a traitor that got shot down. He was a lousy pilot. Guys that served with him said he was a showboat pilot and that he used his rank to take the safe easy missions. He got released from captivity due to his rank and connections ahead of guys that were captive longer than he was. Trump also didn’t call ww2 vets suckers or whatever else these idiots are claiming. It’s more of the same-say anything to try to keep him from getting elected. I don’t necessarily think Trump is the greatest thing to happen, but I do think he’s probably our best shot at saving the republic. I’m convinced if the liberals have their way this country will end soon

I'm so glad that was a real exchange, totally randomly caught on video and not scripted...at all. Very genuine, just like Mark Kelly and his Party. Nothing fake, and no lies at all. No wonder the seething protester was so easily convinced he was all wrong about everything he believed before this minute-and-a-half lecture from the great Mark Kelly. Because, that's how real life is...we all get eight Edits (my count) to express our true feelings when speaking directly from the heart on an unscripted, randomly-filmed video.

Also, he said, "This will be the first time in history that we could possibly put a guy in the White House..."
No, sir. It would be the second time for him. Did you completely forget 2016, Mark?

Fuck him and his brain dead wife. Some deranged leftist shoots her, they absolve him and start blaming "guns".

That's the fucked up ideology they believe. They thinks cops cause crime to rise by arresting criminals. They thinks guns cause crime. They think borders cause illegal immigrants.

Whatever the problem, leftists think it can be solved by ignoring it, raising taxes, persecuting innocent people or confiscating property.

Only idiots vote for democrats.

Just like McStain, every 6 years he shows up and promises to fix the border, checks it off his 'To-Do' list and goes back to his pals in washington. I drive past his 'Worldview' plant every time I drive into Tucson. Is he still getting chineese money?

Isn't that the retard who had a pit bull at the beach, in San Diego? It attacked a baby seal and someone got video of him trying to yank the pit bull loose from the seal. 🤣

Yea, that was him.

Yea, he's the kind of guy who makes good decisions. We should definitely listen to him.🤔

On McCains shoot down, any one have any insight to the validity of this article?

BTW that video is an obvious fake...
I haven’t had time to read the whole article yet, but the Flight Leader, Bryan Compton (whom McCain blamed for his getting shot down) certainly felt that McCain was the one responsible for it (I’ve seen him say so in an interview).

Compton is mentioned in high regard in that article.
Yes. As I recall, McCain blamed him because he made them make three passes over the target. I think the first two the target was obscured by clouds, and McCain thought it was insane to make a third pass, but the clouds did part for the third one. Been a long time, so I may not be remembering correctly.

That isn’t a blameable offense.

That’s it’s a shitty mission boys but we came to do a job.

He should have went to the Cessna Academy if he wanted to get a say in choosing missions.

Article states a Burt Shepherd as leader of the flight group, I don't know wasn't even born yet, but this is the most detailed account I could find on it. Seems its also disputed if he was hit by a Sam or AAA.

From article-

Burt Shepherd, the air wing commander, led the strike group. It included 20 aircraft from the various squadrons on the ship. As the strike group went over the beach, the North Vietnamese were waiting. They fired 22 SAMs at the Americans and unleashed a torrent of antiaircraft fire. For the pilots, it took a cool head to evade missiles and AAA being fired at them at the same time.

“I recognized the target sitting next to the small lake from the intelligence photographs I had studied,” John McCain recalled in Faith of My Fathers. “I dove in on it just as the tone went off signaling that a SAM was flying toward me. I knew I should roll out and fly evasive maneuvers. . .But I was just about to release my bombs when the tone sounded, and had I started jinking [maneuvering to evade the SAM] I would have never had the time nor, probably, the nerve to go back in once I had lost the SAM. So, at about 3,500 feet, I released my bombs, then pulled back the stick to begin a steep climb to a safer attitude. In the instant before my plane reacted, a SAM blew my right wing off. I was killed.”

By his own admission, then, McCain failed to follow instructions in combat. He did not try to evade the missile. Moreover, the pilots who were flying near him, one of them with a handheld camera, said he was not hit by a SAM. He had flown too low and was brought down by a barrage of antiaircraft fire. Since a SAM exploded in a bright orange fireball visible for miles around, it was unlikely that they had called it wrong. And since official navy records listed John McCain as downed by AAA fire, they were puzzled by why he later insisted in his political campaigns that it was a SAM.

As other pilots saw it, John McCain, quite simply, had got himself shot down.

But McCain also made another error in the next four to six seconds after he was hit. He failed to use the proper procedure he had been taught for ejecting. As a result, he injured himself critically, breaking both arms and his right leg.

Here is some shit to piss you off about McCain - as if you need more.

Why is McShitstain always involved in treason with Democrats?

I really do hope mcstain is burning in HE$$ at this very moment. And when kerry's time is up...he's right there besides him. As a retired A.F. man, this does piss me off. I always knew mcstain was a pos (I do respect his service), but, financial gain off the pain and suffering of your brothers in arms?

As I said, I saw that show a long time ago, but this article lists Compton as the Leader. It also states the target was obscured by a smoke screen (not clouds, as I had mis-remembered). It doesn’t say anything about three runs, but the show I watched made that a focal point.

“As Compton’s squadron barreled toward the target in the A4 attack jets, the North Vietnamese put up the smoke screen and poured anti-aircraft fire at the Americans. McCain’s jet went into the conflagration. It didn’t come out.”

Yes, I agree. My recollection of the interview was Compton responding to McClain’s blame: “Well, I was on the same run and “I” didn’t get shot down…”

I believe it states he led an August attack, but doesn't mention him leading the October raid when McCain was shot down. He does state his Aircraft was struck by a SAM. Thanks for sharing that, I have always enjoyed reading/learning about aviation history. Also in weeding out deceptive writing from the truth.

From the New Paper article you linked-

In August 1967, Compton had led a successful attack on the Hanoi thermal power plant, the city’s main source of electricity. Quite a few of the squadron’s planes were shot up, but the squadron’s Walleye guided weapons did the trick.

Fateful mission

By October, the power plant was up and running again and Compton’s squadron was again assigned to attack it.

-further down-

“I saw a SAM [surface-to-air missile] go up [and hit McCain’s jet] and he ejected,” said Compton, who watched the smoking wreckage fall to earth.

If he was the Squadron Leader, and on the mission, wouldn’t he be leading the mission?

What I recall is McCain saying that Compton was extremely bold and brave. The first run on the target held all the inherent risks one would expect on a well-protected target, and that was accepted. The second run was really pushing it, because the enemy was better prepared and more dialed-in with their defenses than they were for the unexpected first run. The third run was "crazy" because they were now just becoming like gallery targets, giving them the same opportunity for a hit over and over. (This is what I recall as McCain's assessment, not mine). I came away with the opinion that Compton was the more credible of the two.

I've searched the net to try and find the show I saw years ago that interviewed both of them, but either it isn't out there, or my Google-Fu is too weak. I'd like to fact-check myself on it.
