Does ANYONE have a source for this rail?

I just got my first CMT rail to try out. It's just the standard HDM rail. It is just like any other clamp on rail, but their clamping system is pretty robust, using two pretty large wedges backed up by anti rotation tabs. The only thing I didnt like was the aluminum barrel nut, although it is made of 7075 and they spec a torque range of 50 to 70 ft-lbs. It also cleared my Riflespeed gas block easily.

CMT makes nice stuff & I really like their receivers, but that rail is like lots of others.
Look at the Ion Lite series from SLR..............their rails are some of the very best & some of the best looking rails available.

SLR Ion Lite 13.7"

That is very similar! Thanks for the heads up. If I can't go CMT it will be between this SLR and a Centurion

Yeah, and the BCM Mlok rails look very similar, as to the Aero Mlok rails. There’s probably a ton of others too. There’s only so many ways to skin this cat. Especially if the goal is a “no frills” Mlok handguard with top rail.

BCM doesn't make large frame handguards

Do not assume that because the rails themselves look similar, that the attachment system is likewise similar. Those Aero/Ballistic advantage rails that use the turn buckle system with the aluminum barrel nut is vastly inferior to other methods of attachment. Ive spun a couple and once you spin them, the barrel nut is done and needs to be replaced. Spinning it was very hard either. In fact, I couldn't even tell you when it happened.

Not available on all models, but shearing an anti-rotation tab would be a pretty significant event in my use…

Well CMT's phone number is no longer their phone number. I got cussed out by some young girl for calling her phone number. I encouraged her to grow up and let her know that her number is listed as CMT's phone number.

Is CMT still in business?
