Hello everyone
I just received my 300wsm build with a 20" Proof Research 1:10 barrel. The primary use for this riffle will be whitetail and boar hunting with occasional long range range work. This riffle will be ran suppressed 100% of the time. With the twist rate and intended use, I'm thinking 180 grain Bergers would be the best bet.

Does anyone have load data for a shorter barreled 300wsm with a quicker burning powder?

I have 2 wizzums with 22" barrels. I'm loading 162 Hammers and had good success with H4350, but I wanted more speed so now I'm trying Leverevolution powder. I just got 3240 with slight pressure sign, so I'm hoping to settle at or just under 3200, which was my goal when I had my ultralight rifle built.

I’m fully in now. I have a 20” Proof, Sendero contour, 1-9 twist barrel and a Terminus Zeus short action mag bolt in bound. I’m still thinking 200gr Eld-X. Let me know if y’all have some loads.

65.7gr of H4350 inside Winchester brass primed with WLRM topped with 175gr LRX. Runs 3000fps with a single digit SDs and low teen ES. This is from a factory Tikka T3X with a chopped barrel to 20” and Crux Ark30 suppressor.

Also used 66.4gr of RL16 and got 2965fps with single digit SD and ES. If only it wasn’t a unicorn powder.

Sorry to hijack this thread but I’m getting closer to my 20” 300WSM. Straight Jacket Armory is spinning the barrel. I’m loading 200ELDX in Norma Brass to 2.9” OAL. They are going to cut the chamber for .060 jump. I need primers badly. I’m still hoping for 2,850 with H4350.

Good luck on the large rifle primers. Put yourself on the reminders lists and have your CC handy. Gotta pull the trigger in the first couple min or forget it! And it's gonna hurt! some places still only let you buy so many and the shipping/hazmat on 1-2k primers is a kick in the balls.

Here's some predictions from Quickload. You'll want something with decent case fill % and burnt propellant % if you want to optimize for a shorter barrel.

This is what I loaded in my 20" 300wsm. It was a half minute load at sea level, but I drove to Wyoming with it last month, and something strange happened. At 6,200ft, it was a 20 moa load. I haven't had time to figure out exactly what happened yet.

Last year I loaded up the 200gr ELDX bullets like I mentioned. I was getting 2,760fps and it was hot. I decided to change. I wanted a little more penetration and hopefully a little less recoil. I am going to try the 175gr LRX.

Are the LRX bullets still shooting well for you?

Here's are a few spreads I shot with my 18" 300 WSM when starting load work with 200gr ELDx, 168gr E-tip and 165gr TGK over RL-16 and Staball 6.5. I was impressed with how well Staball 6.5 worked in the WSM, also in a 17" .280 ai for that matter.
