Who has and what kind of experience with the Walther PDP, specifically the Steel frame models, the PDP F, PRO models and the also new PRO-X model with the integrated Comp? Just looking for impressions, comparisons to what else you have and shot, did you buy any of them for Duty, competition, or just Home or carry defense, and how has it worked out and if you could do it all over again would you buy it again in a heart beat or pass?
Thanks in advance for all the feedback I hope people provide.

Just recently picked up my pdp pro SD or compact a few weeks ago. Less than 150 round through it. It's my third 9mm. Wanted something that I can stick a fly 9 on. 21 days into the wait on that currently.

Will check the trigger weight when I get home.

Note. It is sorta hard to get a consistent trigger gauge on a flat face trigger.
Walther @Finger heightish. 4lb 9 don't feel confident about that one.
Walther @ bottom of trigger opening. 3lb 14

Comparisons
M&p 9c gen 1 with apex forward set sear and trigger. 4lb 3
Sti Gp6 (grand power k100). 8lb 13 double action, 4lb 6 single

They are outstanding for a striker fired pistol. They do not get rented quite as much as our Glocks but we have had zero failures (mechanical failures) with the PDP line of Walther pistols. The firing mechanics are different than a lot of striker fired guns because of the way the firing pin is tensioned, it allows for a much shorter and crisper trigger. I own a PDP Pro with a comp on it, I have thousands of rounds on it and the only issue I have ever had was a me issue. Most compensated guns will say something like use 124 grain or heavier ammo. I was using some really crappy 115 grain monarch early on and was having some ejection issues when it was new. The second I switched to not crap ammo I have had zero problems. We joke about it but if you want a hyper reliable striker fired pistol that goes really fast like a 2011, the answer is probably the Walther PDP.

Of note, there are a couple of different triggers in the PDP line. I personally greatly prefer the PDP Pro trigger and you can buy it on the Walther website if the model you choose does not have it. You can buy after market grip inserts for the pistol that are metal (aluminum and brass) that can change the weight and balance of the pistol to your liking. I have big gorilla hands so I use the largest possible grip I can get on it to maximize the amount of contact with my hands. When you buy most PDPs (maybe all) they do not come with an optic plate. Walther gives you some kind off registration coupon to get the plate off of their site, just keep in mind this can take a while and I have seen them be out of stock on some plates.

I highly recommend the pistol.

Had a tricked out PDP compact and it was a sweet pistol. i think if i was doing a match pistol or a game gun id still lean to the canik probubly.
So you would rather go for the Turkish clone of the p99 or ppq.

Heads up all.
Through the end of the year, any purchase of a Walther PDP Compact, Full-Size, F-Series, PRO, MATCH, or Steel Frame model entitles the buyer to a free C&H Precision red dot sight. It mounts directly to the gun without any adapter plate. To redeem the optic, go to https://waltherarms.com/blog/freeoptic

I have a PDP Steel Frame Match. I put the ZR Tactical long-stroke guide rod on it and Lok palm swell grips. It is the nicest, best shooting striker pistol i’ve shot. The trigger break and reset is fantastic and unlike any other striker pistol i’ve tried.

I use it for target and sport shooting. I would not use it for carry or duty as it’s physically big and heavy. The plate system is good and took two weeks to receive from Walther. The controls and ergonomics are perfect.

I love my full sized Glocks, but their ergos are different and seem to be love or hate. I like the modularity of the Sig 320 series, but their triggers are meh.

I think the polymer PDP’s are a great deal. For a little extra you can add the factory *dynamic performance trigger”. The SF (steel frame) models are nice but kind of expensive. I’d put them on par with the higher end CZ’s.
