Looking to do some research on companys who do origin barreled actions with a ppc/grendel/arc bolt face. Bugholes and PVA dont offer that bolt face on their website. I may end up ordering each piece seperate. Any sites to check out i am unaware of would be grateful tyvm

Oh no not yet finding all my options i think i will go to zermatt direct. Then find a company for my barrel (6mm arc). I need to do some thinking on the contour and then length either 24" maybe 26" unless this is to long. Thinking medium palma from what i read its right in the middle. Hopefully around Christmas i should start getting parts together.

IIRC he’ll let you choose your boltface and knob and you can pick up a Proof prefit while you’re there (and IIRC he offers a special on barreled-actions).

Go through PVA for the barreled action. I got my Osprey barrel at PVA for my TL3, same bolt face as Origin, and with the MDT mags it feeds like butter. Lots of fun to shoot. Even if you get your action somewhere else get the barrel through PVA. You will be glad you did. Mine is a 26" Proof Comp with spiral fluting. Length and contour will depend on what you plan to do with it. Mine is for PRS style matches. What's your plan?

Coming up on Black Friday so you can save on the MDT mags during their sale.

I've been shooting a 6.5 Grendel in a TL3 without any issues since 2019. 6BR mag kits, PPC bolt face, McGowen barrel nutted prefit. That's all it took

When they're available they've been fine. We made Grendel and Valkyrie based wildcats for the Origin/TL3/etc before those mags existed. The Valkyrie and 6.8 SPC based stuff doesn't have a good mag available yet that I'm aware of. If I'm incorrect, someone please point me into an off-the-shelf unit and I'll get one in immediately to test and confirm.

The MDT mags are a huge improvement over the previous solution which was bending feed lips and using the 6BR kit.

If you want a 6 ARC Origin we can do it.

ETA: I updated the website listing for it to include the ARC calibers and the Grendel while I was in there.

Just echoing feedback from RampedRaptor. I contacted James from Northland Shooters Supply and he provided a wealth of information and options. After reaching out to him, i ended up purchasing an origin action and pre-fit barrel and other components that I was able to build myself. The outcome was a great shooting system.

Ok after reading on the forum its sounds like 6br and dasher are two other top choices to go with. 6arc has a plus for rolling over into the AR platform. All three seem to be cost-effective with 6br being best. I plan on shooting some silhouette matches, or any other matches i can dip my toes in. I am not trying to set the world on fire but want to have fun while perfecting a valuable skill. What barrel lengths would you recommend and medium palma sounds like a happy medium maybe a little heavier. Thanks again

I would go 26" and the contour has to do with what you plan to do with the rifle. If just off the bench then contour isn't much of a factor. If shooting PRS then a heavier contour will help with some balance and recoil reduction. Also figure out how much weight you can work with while shooting and moving.

I've been using 10 round MDT metal 6br mags in a Valkyrie barreled Origin you did for me. Just bent the lips in to .365" (i think) and they are flawless. Feeds like butter.
