Hi guys I have a couple of synthetic stocks that are kind of flimsy in the forend area. Was wondering if they be beefed up and will it do any good? They touch the barrel if the front bag is forward at the bench
When I was a poor, I epoxied some stainless round stock in the forend of a Remington 700. It worked in a pinch. I would personally buy a better stock and rifle if you have a 700.
Hogging out the barrel channel for more clearance is a start. And epoxying a rod in the fore end might help. But I've recently found the recoil lug mortice is a central point for forearm flex. Bedding the lug, all around sometimes helps. With a couple thou of clearance on the from & sides to ease in disassembly.
