How does my reloading method look?

I’m still new to reloading but trying to get a method down that’s solid. My goal is sub 1/2 moa at 100 yards with good SD and ES. This is what I’m planning to do with once fired brass.

1. Anneal
2. Tumble in corn cob media
3. Deprime
4. Lube, remove expander ball from FL sizing die and bump shoulder back .002
5. Use 21st century turning arbor for .002 neck tension.
6. Trim if needed, chamfer, debur and clean primer pockets.
7. Prime, charge and seat bullets.

Anything you would change? Expander mandrel and annealer are on the way haven’t started this whole process just yet.

Personally I debone prior to tumbling- folks do it both ways but what’s the harm in having clean primer pockets? I use a mighty armory decapper then anneal.

I thought about depriming before tumbling but seems more corn cob media would get stuck in the flash hole this way. But I’m already getting some in them with spent primers in place so I guess it really doesn’t matter.

Only a few questions:

Turning arbor over their expander die and mandrels?

Not listed, but I assume you are wiping lube off by hand after?
I was going to use imperial dry neck lube before running them over the turning arbor.

Went with a turning arbor as it gives .002 neck tension vs the expander Mandrel giving .001 unless you get the kit. Figured I would start with the turning arbor to see how it works out for me and go from there.

Okay, you can buy the different sized mandrels individually in 0.0005 increments, but I guess the turning mandrel is the same thing but less cost than the equivalent 0.002 under mandrel.

I started tumbling after sizing to remove the lube and clean in one step. I just inspect and wipe the cases before sizing and clean out my dies more frequently.

Your procedure seems good to me, I don't see a need to change anything. Keep us posted on your results!

This is what I have ordered. It’s actually more than the standard expanding mandrels. I’m going to get all my new brass fire formed and make necks uniform with the expander ball in the FL sizing die in the mean time.

If I'm understanding the description correctly my guess is that for the time being they were going to do a standard FL resize using the expander ball to "make necks uniform". Once the turning arbor comes in it will replace the expander ball and add a slight crimp(?) to the neck for tension during the resize rather than during the bullet seating.

I'm relatively new to reloading as well so I could be wrong; wouldn't be the first time.
