Hello. I am looking to get a new optic and was wondering what you all think is better between the T6Xi and the Mark 5HD. I am looking for 600-1000 yard shooting, would like to get a 25x+ on the high end. Does anyone have experience with the P6Xi? I have been looking on the web, but there only seem to be very short, limited reviews. Thank you.

The T series Steiner is considered upper-mid level. The M series is an alpha scope, so one of the best. The Leupold Mark 5HD is currently the top of the line for Leupold. Military snipers use the Mark 5HD, the Nightforce ATACR, the Steiner M series and the Schmidt & Bender PM-II, for comparison. I have not seen a head to head on the Steiner T series and the Mark 5HD, but my money would be on the Leupold. I am a fan of both companies. I think Steiner does not get the respect it deserves, but Leupold has upped their game from the old Mark 4.

Bottom line: Neither Leupold nor Steiner make a bad scope.

I have a T6Xi 5-30x56 with the SCR2 Mil reticle. I literally got it this week. It’s a phenomenal optic and a massive upgrade from my previous scope (PST II 5-25x50).

I admittedly don’t have a ton of experience behind Leupold’s but I can vouch for the quality of the T6Xi. Their zero adjustment and locking system are stupid easy / simple too

My twin to yours just showed up today and I got a little time with it late this afternoon. Initial impression is promising.

I spent a full day yesterday with the T6xi zeroing it in and doing positional tripod work at the range (mostly at 100m). I’m a big fan of the SCR2 reticle and the image is impressive from 5 to 25x. I can see more CA at 30x but still a clean image.

One thing I also like is the parallax adjustment functions significantly better than others I’ve used. I’ve tried multiple scopes where the sharpest image to my eye for objects at 100M+ (at infinity) was 200yd compared to the infinity setting. This scope seems pretty on the money for sharpness and being parallax free at the listed distances.

Ability to reset zero and not have to remove caps for the zero stop is super convenient. The small added goodies like Tenebraex caps and throw lever add up too. Let me know if you have any questions based on the small sample size OP.

What power is that left photo set to?

I recently acquired a T6xi 5-30. So far I am in love with it. I have it on a 24" 6.5CM that I shoot out to 700 at my club. The build quality and feature set is top-notch. Glass is excellent. I love the SCR2 reticle as well. A really nice tree without clutter. I am very much looking forward to warmer weather and lots of time with the scope.
