For the Old Trek Nerds

I am so much a Trek nerd that I watched this to very end, credits included.

I watched the re-runs as a kid.

This series aired primarily in 1966. My brother, who has a birthday today (younger than me but I call him an old fart,) was born in 1966. My mother watched the show and her favorite character was Mister Spock.

Like the old wive's tale that a mother can mark a child with something that caught her attention, my brother has ears that come to a point. Not quite as sharp as the prosthetics Nimoy wore. But, to a point.

I am such a nerd that I still remember an interview with Nimoy where he roasted Shatner for what he thought was the most corny line. Kirk's eulogy at the memorial for Spock.

"Of all the souls I have known, his was the most human."

Live Long and Prosper.

Now, why could my mother not watch something about Einstein when she was pregnant with me instead of "Mister Ed"?

And here I thought only strippers were 'Trekies',

I had a fling with a stripper back in the 90's and I remember I brought up something about politics and the last election. She asked 'Oh yeah, who won that thing.' She was a grown woman and didn't know who the POTUS was.

But like most dancers, she was a Star Trek cultist and had seen every episode more than once..

All I remember is Kirk was either fighting or banging green bitches
Macoy (Bones) always said Damn it Jim she's a green bitch
“Dammit Jim. I’m a doctor [I don’t have any useful skills for our current predicament, but the episode is only 22 minutes long, so we’ll be wrapping this up pretty soon anyway.]” Allegedly…

I don’t get it. New movie trailer or something? Did Nimoy die?
( i just guessing ? ) .. I don't think so ? looks like it just a independent short film production, and tribute with the blessings of Shatner and the Nimoy estate. Also geared to the diehard Trekkies that span generations .
.

I am such a Trek nerd that I know the best movies were directed by Nimoy. Shatner, second best. Worst for continuity was Jonathon Frakes from the NG series. He could not keep track of his character being given the Comm only to wind up in the next scene on the planet with the away team.

I alone know that Kirk actually arose to the rank of admiral.

And that he is the only one to pass the Kobayashi Maru test.

“I'm only human, and I have no doubt Spock will outlive me by many years. I can only hope that, once in a while, when people look at Spock's visage, they might sometimes think of me.”
― Leonard Nimoy, I Am Spock
I think of the 70’s vintage documentaries regarding the impending new ice age that I saw when I was a kid.
