Barrel vice padding

Pine rosin. That stuff is amazing. I just keep a bag close to the vice and use a pinch. It wipes right off with a squirt of WD-40.
Just got this one ... the leather is awesome. Highly recommended product.

What if the hooker doesn’t frequent tanning beds? Will the barrel slip?
I had to throw that price of leather away. The barrel would slip badly no matter how tight I had the bolts. I could not break factory barrels. I wrap a piece paper around the barrel. Problem solved and don’t have to tighten the bolts more than just snug. I agree the vice itself works great. Broke several Sako TRG and tikka barrels with it just clamped to the table with c-clamps.Just got this one ... the leather is awesome. Highly recommended product.

I have used painters tape with good results, I just go around the area I want to protect a few times.
Just clean, dry, bare aluminum.
But to edit: in all honesty, just bare aluminum and it’s usually not clean or dry…
