    Hey fellow hiders,

I'm starting to get the idea that traditional woods stocks look just as good sometimes. Post what you got and share details on barrel length, etc.

    I'll start...
    Howa mini
    6.5 grendel
    Factory 20" chopped to 18"
    Boyds pro varmint
    TBAC DOMINUS

Yeah...try to find a piece of Tiger Myrtle big enough to make a rifle stock out of....

There are a whole bunch of very nice wood stocks in posts. I not talking about laminated wood, either. Whole chunks of wood. I like laminated in some cases but nothing beats a nice, highly figured piece of wood.

A few of my Jim Cloward prone rifles. All are Barnard actions.

I've always been intrigued by that Boud Tacticool stock.

Boyds are one of the few places that make stocks for older rifles, the Tacticool ergonomics look very similar to the likes of the Bravo, Manners, etc.

It's a decently looking stock. The only thing I regret was not adding the texture option to the grip area and bottom/sides of forend.

    This thing is slippery smooth.

I’m pleased with my Boyds Pro Varmint. Excellent value, and for the low price I don’t mind filing in my own thumb rest. I was having LRI clean up the receiver and rebarrel from 22-250 to 22 Creedmoor, so while they had it I had them install better pillars and bed it.View attachment 8549162
I forgot to mention, I went with the scale checkering for looks, but I’m a little disappointed because it’s not very grippy. I haven’t tried their other checkering or stippling options yet. I’m sure the scale is better than having no checkering at all, though.
