WE ARE ALREADY ON OUR WAY THERE...

And we will beat the ChiComs to it.

On October 14, 2024, the NASA Europa Clipper, an unmanned space probe packed with next generation technology, thundered off 39-A at Kennedy on a SpaceX Falcon Superheavy and is slated to reach Jupiter's moon Europa in 6 years. The Clipper will perform 29 flybys of the Jovian system and orbits of the moon, taking detailed electronic surveys into it's geographical features and use a wide range of EM radiation emitters to probe the ocean that covers the moon up to 100 miles deep. It is NOT a lander, nor will it deploy robot craft to take physical samples for a return journey, but it will be a significant leap forward since the Voyager and Galileo probes started sending back first images of the Jovian system from up close decades ago with the camera tech available at that time. The proposed lander, driller and submarine robot that the Chinese Space Agency and a handful of state-supporting private tech firms had declared to start construction on since 2021 has not yet been assembled nor even has an actual working blueprint.

EUROPA CLIPPER FULL LAUNCH 10/14/2024:

I was able to see this live. I had dropped my wife off for her first day at her new job in Titusville and was returning from dropping off a carseat to her brother in Melbourne. On my way back I saw a lot of people parked along the road in Titusville and assumed there was going to be some sort of launch. After taking the wife back to work after lunch I went back to park and see when I saw it launch.
