Small one, bro-in-law was helping his neighbor set fence posts and hit a big one with a gas arbor. Phone company set up a tent and spent 3 weeks splicing it back together!
This was not my handy work. A friend sent me that pic and I think it’s something he found on the interwebs. I did have a similar experience though. I was on a water project and we had a bunch of locates across a street we had to ditch across. We found the phone line in conduit and I was tracing it with a shovel while the operator dug. We got all the way across the street and the conduit ended and the cable turned hard right (utility locate didn’t show that MINOR detail). Next scoop with the excavator revealed a 200 pair phone line

I've seen electrical work that absolutely terrified me...I noticed my light fixture sagging in my bathroom. Long story short, the fixture was only supported by the ceiling tile without any other support. So I said to myself, "I better fix that." So I dig into things deeper. The entire fixture was wired in with a piece of household extension cord.
