So had to turn in my issued helmet a while back. I need a night vision mount. Halo isn't that comfortable. Tempted to just run a bump helmet but I realize there are a LOT of dirt cheap claiming to be ballistic helmets like sub $200 wow the markets changed. Did the process lower the price that much or are they total junk. Heck team Wendy bumps are only $300 ish. So where do I start? No need for coms really just some good noise reducing active muffs and an nvg mount.

If a ballistic helmet is 200 dollars, it's coming from China. Would you trust that to do anything other than hold your nods? Shit, even then, would you trust a 200 dollar helmet with a pot metal NVG mount to hold your 10,000 dollar nods?

There are some middle ground, affordable helmets out there that are NOT made in china that have better materials selection.

The PGD arch comes to mind.

If you can swing a few extra dollars, the Team Wendy Epic Specialist helmet is fantastic. Excellent padding, excellent suspension and a really nice NVG mount.

How about a team Wendy bumps?

I personally dont like the Team Wendy Bump. It has a really weird "visor" or lip in the front that screwed with rolling my NVG's up (rhino position). I also loathe their 2.0 and 3.0 rails.

I'm running an ops-core fast SF at work.

For training, i'm running their new bump. You can find them on sale for 450-475. It's a little expensive for a bump but the helmet is very comfortable and does a great job mirroring my work helmet.
