XM3 clone build.

Got the PTG repro flash hider in hand today. Looks great. Color isn't correct but that's fine. No issues ordering from them. I have their repro v2 EFR on order now too.
Just installed the PTG Repo... zero complaints

Beauty! Mines gonna end up being an 'inspired by' build. I just couldn't financially make sense of truing a 700 up when a custom action is much better in every way and cost me less. I also went for a 7 twist 223 to shoot the 75 eldm up to the 88 eldm. I went with a lighter fill on my a1-3 as well. I'm will be a bit still waiting on stuff on order.

Just wanted to add in my little bit. Got the Ti base and sterile UNS mount from PTG. Thinking next will be a stock from them.

Curious, has anyone had PTG do machine work for them on their XM3 or a complete build (or any other build)? If so, how is their work?

Don't send PTG your rifle, they might send a fake one back, lol. Seriously, PTG is fucked up and sells fake stuff, buyer beware.

Can you elaborate more on this? The only thing I have heard and experienced is an extended lead time. I ordered their stainless steel scope base and it seems to be good quality. I did experience an extended lead time on a bolt handle which took several months to receive.

I am not planning on sending anything to them but I am curious what stuff of theirs is fake. Thanks.

One of the latest heads up posts on them over in the vintage section FYI

Obviously PTG isn't going to swap your rifle out for a fake one, it's a joke. Read this thread when you have a few minutes and you'll understand why you should stay far away from them:

Are there any photo's of a real USMC XM3 with a Badger M5 bottom metal with detachable magazines? Not speculation, but an actual photo of one? I've never seen evidence of this on an issued rifle. Steve's XM3 did have a fluted barrel and takedown stock (1 of 3 takedown stocks, Steve has 1 and 2 sold at the CMP). Here's Steve's XM3, there's no magazines here and looking at the location of the pin in the side of the bottom metal, it appears to be an M4 (higher pin position than the M5).

If anyone has any evidence of an actual USMC XM3 with a detachable bottom metal, please post some photos. Until there's actual proof, the M5 on issued XM3's is a myth. I'd be happy to be proven wrong on this, since it would add an interesting variation to our clone builds.
Following up on this. Lol i basically gave in and messaged Steve on insta. There was a prototype with M5. He sold it to a marine in Hawaii. He said he didn't have pictures. I have no idea what spurred me to look today other than coming back to this thread due to a notification and possibly a touch of tism
