Colorguard is scam wherein one exchanges Federal Reserve Notes for the privilege of shitting in a box, and then mailing it off to be 'analyzed'; and told the results of such shitting and mailing are not reliable, so you need to go see your Doc. (For fun, assume they are also selling one's DNA info the highest (Pharma) bidder).
Colonoscopy uses a sigmoidoscope shoved up one's ass. The 'flexible' scope is about the size of a flashlight body. The front cap on the scope is rigid. 'Flexible' is similar to what you might imagine any flexible metal conduit that is covered in vinyl is like.
Yeah, I've had one....biggest issue for me was the freaking nurses who were getting IV port. IDIOTS!!!! I'm like...you know....you cannot miss again or that arm's going to be a no-go for any IV for a while...she just laughed....and laughed and her supervisor was right there...did nothing. Oh, and no BP machine either in the prep area (a good thing, because I'd have probably exploded it by then...one leg off the gurney about to leave until I thought...that shit tasted so bad...I dont want to do that again.).
Boy, if there were a good alternative to the freaking camera going up your ass that gave accurate results, I'm all in. And apparently, there is...but the same folks who won't allow ivermectin, won't allow those tests you mentioned...(queue in RFK please).
wrong. have seen many unsuspected tumors found during routine screening. many,many,many polyps removed that were highly likely to develop into cancer which would have been missed with non invasive screening (not just benign hyperplastic). these newer testing procedures have a way shorter history of efficacy. i have sedated for and assisted with maybe 1000,2000(?) rountine and emergent colonoscopies. i can not recall 1 untoward event in 5 years. our unit was hosp based and we got patients considered too unstable for the outpt unit or in pts with various GI,renal,pulm,cardiac,neuro issues. do not remember 1 procedure related event. saw several but other metabolic/sedation related.
this does reflect my rabid personal outlook. my gr mother died of liver mets @ age 72. well before colonoscopy was available to her. got a bowel obst. had colon tumor,had liver mets too far gone. never heard the woman cough or sneeze. likely would have lived to 90.
money? yes,an issue. you can always find some med big shot pushing hard to remove some testing from common use to save money. usually shills for ins co and gov re medicare. PSA and mammogram come to mind in that regard. yea,can find other big shots pushing the opposite way. wonder if this guy is a beneficiary of companies selling the newer testing.
Just had a close friend admitted to the ER a couple weeks ago due to a colonoscopy that was too rough. Bruised the spleen and colon. Fluid built up in the area, extremely painful.

been awhile but memory is that conlonoscope is <30mm dia not "flashlight" dia. a sigmoidoscope is a rigid metal tube about 24" as i recall. used rarely now. ie except at VA (when i was working elsewhere) where it is cheaper,no sedation and only inspects the descending colon,missing the 1st 2/3. have seen perfs during ultrasound exams in the hands of people who have done > 5K exams. bad shit happens everywhere,all the time. those scopes are bigger and riskier.

If someone has spleen and colon contusion from a routine colonoscopy, they likely need a further work up by a good internal medicine doctor.

Prior to my last scope, my GP prescribed Cologuard in lieu of being scoped even though I was due for one. Threw the box in the trash and called my GI who is a friend and scheduled colonoscopy. Found a small polyp which was benign. He commented after the procedure that we never would have discovered it with the poop in the box and glad he did the scope. Have known people who have died form colon cancer and its not pretty. Get screened and start at 45 especially if you have family history. I started in my early forties due to family history (not cancer) and just something to take care of.
I've been there a bunch. Mostly Yancey County but Buncombe County a couple of times. Just waiting for an injury to heal up enough to back. Trying to tarp a roof and fell through. Anyway I go to work not talk but it doesn't seem like FEMA is as big a part as it should be.

This is not a commentary on the truck's durability. You would be astounded at how tough and capable this truck is.
The rear suspension mounts broke and then punched through the frame, requiring the full rear frame replacement. Front and rear rack and pinion steering, suspension all the way around, front and rear bumpers, air suspension systems, and bed components, to name a few.
I love how many times a patient has told me this or that I'm a hard stick and I get it on the first try.......let us do our jobs. As the saying goes, stay in your lane.

Oh, I’m fine with getting a needle. Been there enough with donating blood, blood tests. But this was insane. It finally came out I was her first stick in pre-op. The real issue I had was she clearly didn’t know what she was doing combined with the unprofessional giggling after missing 4 times and continuing to chase it each and every time. Furthermore, you’d think the supervisor who was right there would have seen what was going on and made a suggestion or helped. Whole thing was so unprofessional it was frightening.
Fortunately, the nurses and anesthesiologist in the procedure room were cool as shit whilst waiting there laying with my butt out in the open…as I recall, the anesthesiologist was pretty cute as well.

my bad time was after a major accident. the protocol said they had to have 2 lg bore IVs before transport. stuck me about 6x and had to go with 1 after 30+ min fing around. also,the "protocol" said multi system had to go to a trauma center. they took me about 40m away. there was a major hosp about 6 away with red light on. longer story than this but. the "protocol" scam is all over medical practice and is designed as a money maker & work reducer for the system. don't need people who can think,just ones who can follow simplified orders applies to DRs,nurses,techs,EMTs,RTs,everyone.
