PRS Talk Altus Proof competition

They're outlawed because they are not part of the PRS, and points don't go toward the PRS. Other than that, it's a standard PRS style match with KYL, troop lines, barricades, etc ranging from 200 to 1000 yards. It is very new shooter friendly and you'll enjoy it.

I shot several Altus Proof matches in 2022 and 2023. They are really fun matches- I would have shot them this year, but I had to move away from the area for work. You'll have tons of fun.

I'd have a solution for milling targets (lookup table, mildot master, etc) handy- occasionally there will be an unknown distance stage. Most of the stages will be known distance and shot from some sort of barricade. People are super helpful.

The ABC ranges as well as the ranges just west of the 100 yard sight-in are well protected from the wind. You'll think the targets have bullet magnets there so easy to hit. Great berms, especially on C range, really helps spotting misses. The Unknown distance range, an add-on since we joined, can be fun and getting out a bit, very challenging. It's got a little of everything. A lot of fun to shoot. We maintain a family membership and I find it eats ammo like crazy because it's so much fun shooting there and there are som many different and varied places to shoot and things to do.

Nice people, always accommodating.

My favorite place to shoot and favorite place to go for matches.
