Ruger RXM - Magpul & Ruger make a Glock 19 clone

IMG_7654.jpg

Trigger sucks, just like a stock glock. Grip feels awesome. Sights and mag release are good.

I just wonder can this thing take other triggers in the FCU or are you stuck with what they give you?

What problem does this solve?

At first glance and in theory:
- No plate system but allows direct mount of a variety of red dots
- FCU so no additional 4473 bullshit in wanting to go from G19 to G45 to G17 to G49 and then some in one gun
- A Gen 3 Glock clone for less than Blue Label pricing without all the blue label hassle.

...maybe grip/grip angle for those that don't like/want traditional Glock....still waiting on confirmation

Personally, makes a compelling case for a cheap, usable gun that I don't have to give a shit about if it's plucked out of my glove box or lost by TSA.

Thank you.

It could also be a flaming turd too... there's some minor things that give me pause. Essentially it's a Gen 3 Glock copy with an FCU and a few other theoretically good ideas for $400.
I agree.

I asked because none of the features it has are on my list of things I desire.

Now, if the lower was ambidextrous, or if the lower allowed me to switch between double stack and single stack magazines, or if it was made in God’s Caliber of 45 ACP, well I would be inching towards “Add to Cart.”

I’ve always wanted a pistol that would allow me to have fewer bullets. Said no one. Ever…
If the pistol design is neato because it’s firing system can be easily removed and swapped between lowers, it would be nice if I, as a full grown male, could use it with a full size lower, and then I could swap the firing system to a different lower with a single stack magazine, so smaller handed family members could shoot it comfortably too.

Kinda like moving an AR trigger from a lower with an A2 fixed stock, to a lower with a collapsible stock.

It is not a Glock clone, it is an unproven pistol of unknown quality and reliability.

Sig doesn’t go off in ur pants…unless you pull the trigger…but I guess you believe everything you read on the internet
It's been demonstrated repeatedly that the gun is unsafe. It wasn't even safe when SIG started shipping them. And the design is retarded because they just adapted the P250 instead of a ground up design made to be striker fired.

Defending SIG at this point is moronic.

I saw one review that said it is 17 degree, same as a 1911. That is the one feature that I desire. I've been wishing Glock would fix their retarded grip angle forever.

There is a point to that grip angle….

It isnt to appease people who are too lazy to put in the work and learn to shoot a pistol because “it isnt easy” the first time.

Channeling my inner 308Pirate 🤣
How did I do?
I should probably swear more and call you dumb to get full points.

Now me being me.
The Glock grip is the way it is for a reason.
Not all like it, or work to overcome the slightly odd initial feel.
Now I shoot and carry a g19 and it is second nature.

So a down market Zev OZ9?

More or less but with a properly constructed marketing campaign, production schedule, and logistics.

Ruger pulled of a perfect launch. It's a luke warm me-too product but Ruger corporate launched their marketing followed 12 hours later with the embargo lift and landed inventory in most retailers. There's no cooling off period for consumers, end user reviews are appearing within 24 hours of the influencer reviews.

Regardless of what you think of the product, Ruger really paid attention to MagPul's consultants. As long as there aren't massive quality issues, this will probably be fairly successful due to the launch.

Chef's Kiss!

Agree. They really did nail the full court press! I see this gun on multiple social media platforms'!

The Glock grip angle reportedly came about because Gaston started designing a pistol with his starting point based on the mechanics of the human hand grip. He wasn't a sport shooter at all to start with, and didn't let existing pistol designs cloud his vision too much.

If you let your wrist cam down enough for a level sight picture on a full size Glock, you will find that most average folk's wrists seem to have a range of motion limit around the 19 degree mark. This wrist down angle is a repeatable stopping point reference for a natural point of aim with the Glock platform. The fire control design of a Glock is simpler than anything else before it as well.

Sure, Glock triggers are mass produced crunch and tick crap right out of the box. Smooth off all those punch press burrs and edge tears off of any moving part that interfaces with another and you have a decent self defense trigger pull.
