Supposedly the thicker web is for higher pressure rounds for SMGs. No idea if that’s true. Could be to prevent bullet setback…or maybe the designer thought it was cool.

On the other hand…passing vehicles traveling 5-10 MPH less and some asshat thinks he’s on the autobahn gets six inches from your bumper and flashes his headlights.
On a third hand, The skinny pedal does speed up a car to get the fuck out of the way. I bet not many are getting bumpered and flashed that aren't passing in the 1-2 mph faster zone. And hanging in the lane to pass more people rather than letting the cars stacking up behind them pass.

In Virginia, since they have passed hands free phone laws and left lane laws. Shit has gotten worse by far. He'll even seen cops riding down the road on their cell phones. Seen em ride behind someone driving 10 under the limit in the left lane and nothing.
Speed limits on the interstate should be higher. Trucks should not be allowed out of the right lane, and civil penalties for impeding should be higher and income based. And drivers should watch out for bicyclists. 
I drive ten over on the interstate. If I see a vehicle overtaking me, I’ll wait to move over, even slow down. If they run up on me as I’m passing, I’ll move into the next gap provided there is space. Some fag in a Tesla wanting to get to Disney 30 seconds quicker doesn’t dictate my driving.
People who drive like that are offended by people who drive like that.
Be careful with that. I did that once at night. I was in the left of 3 lanes on the NJ Turnpike. Someone came from behind me and flashed their brights. I brake checked him, slightly. It continued 2-3 times. He wouldn't give up. I thought, OK, I'll let them pass and then get behind them and "brighten his day."
Well, that's what I thought, anyway. As the car passed on my left, I got blinded by a high intensity white light right into my driver's door window. I slowed down and they matched me, speed for speed. And then, I saw some funny little letters on the car's front fender. "T-R-O-O-P-E-R." Apparently, he had turned on his side search light on the top of his emergency light rack. He continued matching my speed to keep the light in my window for about 20 seconds. After that, he sped up and went on his way, turning the light off. Thank goodness he had somewhere to go and wasn't just "patrolling" or I'd have been dead meat, that night!

Agreed. After all, the safe driver manual does say one should "keep up with the flow of traffic:" at all times. The slower drivers create hazards for all the other drivers, that will do stupid/dangerous things to get around them. I agree one should never drive constantly in the left lane (although I have done it many times). The problem being, the amount of traffic is so bad that it has to be used for more than just "passing" at times, and especially at rush hours with stop and go traffic.
That. and (as I discovered), all the NJSP Troopers who think they own it!
