I am considering buying one but I wanted to read a few independent reviews before purchasing it and I have not found anything on this particular model yet.

I’ve got two original SOCOM 762’s and a SOCOM556….they aren’t the quietest cans on the market. Minimal POI shift, quick detach, quality materials

I own 4 Surefire SOCOM series suppressors. I do not own the model you ordered, but I am certain you will be happy. They are quiet enough, no POI shift, easy to take on and off, and bomb proof. There are people out there that have 50-80k rounds through their Surefire 556 SOCOMs. I think that says a lot. Out of all the baffled cans I’ve tried, they seem to have the least back pressure. No, they are not OSS, but they’re far better than KAC to say the least.

I agree the RC series has quite the reputation. but this is a titanium supressor that was specifically made for bolt guns. w/ a 3d printed dmls baffle stack. their focus on this suppressor was maximum suppression and poi shift. they didnt care in the least about back pressure. because its made for bolt guns. really kind of crazy to me its been out a while and no one, literally no one has done a review. the specs are pretty awesome. 11oz at 8 inches. cant wait to put it head to head w/ my hyperion.

I was on the fence, but I want to use mine on my gas guns, as well as my bolt actions, so I'm going to order the SOCOM762-RC2. I have SF muzzle devices warcomps/MB on most everything.

Well, when you get it give us a review.

I recently ordered a SF RC3, so with luck I’ll have it this summer (or probably more likely, around this time next yr).

I didn't realize the RC3 existed, now I may save a little more and pony up, that explains why their prices dropped on the other models, cry once...

its trash. absolute trash. shot maybe 15 rounds thru it. probably will never shoot it again.
if nfa items werent such a pain to sell i would of sold it immediately.
I ab'd it w/ like 10 other 308 suppressors. both 300 blk and 308.
it was the second worst. barely better than a sandman k.
some really mediocre cans were way better than it.
worst suppressor purchase Ive ever made and I have over 20 of them.
it and my hyperion are literally on different planets suppression wise.

I had been putting Surefire muzzle devices on everything. I planned on the RC762, but couldn't find one when it came time to buy. B&T somehow got permission to use their mounts, so I bought theirs. The Ti was never in my budget, also it's supposed to only be used on bolt guns, I wanted more versatility.

I've been using Surefire for several years. I have a 7.62RC2 and a 300SPS. As stated elsewhere, The RC2 is quiet enough. I use it on 6mm up to 300WM. Nothing is going to be movie quiet with supers. It was a disappointment on a 300BO, where the goal was to be movie quiet with subs. I bought the 300SPS because it was designed to be quiet with 300BO subs. It does a wonderful job. The bonus is that it is noticeably quieter on everything up to 300WM than the RC2. I used it in a school, put on by Mark and Frank, a couple of years ago, and Frank even commented on how good it sounded. I haven't seen the Ti version, but if I ever buy another Surefire, it'll be the 300SPS.

ya this ti2 was made specifically for bolt action guns. its really light. and not too long. but everything Ive tried it on it performs worse than a sandman s. and the hyperion, tbac, cat odb, etc are in a different league all together. I honestly will never shoot it again unless someone convinces me because they want to hear how horrible it is.

All it does is reduce the muzzle flash. It kinda reduces the muzzle blast. But not really. I've used it on ARs, AR10s, bolt guns. And it's loud as fuck on everything. 223 up to 308.

Look at the tests for the full size surefire, it's loud compared to the newer cans. The mini is about twice as loud as the full size surefire can.

I've never had anyone say, that can sounds good or is quite. Everyone always says, damn that thing is loud.

If you still wanna try it. I'll give ya a good deal on it lol.

I have some interest in the Ti2 for bolt gun use only. Could you elaborate on what performance metrics you thought the can lacked in? Sound suppression, flash suppression, back pressure, etc.

Just giving you a slightly different comparo. I have an SF RC3 and a TBAC Dominus SR.

Just on the mount alone, I’d go TBAC. The Surefire mount leaks and blows gas rearward at maybe a 30° angle. This even with the 3 or 4 prong flash hider with the labyrinth rings.

The SF mount also has some play in it, which apparently is normal and is needed for clearance as their cans don’t thread on at all. They just drop straight down, and then you crank on a collar which pulls the can straight back onto what I think is a taper. The play makes me think there might be a small accuracy hit? NBD on an AR, but why even chance it on a bolt gun? This stuff is expensive.

For an AR the bombproof SF SS/Inconel cans make sense. For bolt guns, titanium TBAC makes sense (or Otter Creek, or Reardon mounts, etc, just not the SF mount).

The SR mount is super solid. Quick too (1 to 3 secs slower than the SF) and way faster than direct thread.

Although personally, direct thread is probably the way to go. Easier, much cheaper, and with HUB it’s more adaptable to future mounts. I just love spinning that Dominus SR on lickety split tho’.

Despite being a direct thread fan, I just couldn’t stop myself from trying secondary retention lol.
