I havent seen any testing or reviews of these out there. Just ordered a White Oak 20" Geissele 5R Cut-Rifled 1-7 service rifle barrel threaded 5/8-24... Looking forward to testing this and seeing how it stacks up to my 20" WOA Bartlein, Krieger and Wilson service rifle barrels......

Anyone have one of these in hand and tested? Yes, I've heard 3rd party rumblings that they shoot, but haven't seen any independent testing, comparisons or reviews or talked to anyone directly that has one.

The Strattomatch 6 Arc barrels also have cut rifle instead of their CHF barrels.

Other than WOA selling these 20" cut rifled service rifle barrels...who else is selling Geissele cut rifled AR barrels in any caliber?

I'm not talking blanks. I'm talking Geissele cut rifled small and large frame gasser barrels... 223, 6ARC, 308, 6.5cm

The WOA is the first and only I've seen

I thought Geissele itself was selling them.

Are you referring to cut rifled blanks??

Or actual Geissele cut rifled AR15 finished and ready to go barrels which is what I'm talking about.
    Cut Rifle, Yes sir.

Not AR15 exactly. I mean a smith could take a blank and contour it down, install the RE and drill the gas port to make it an AR15 barrel, but there are very few shops I would trust to do that. WOA, Craddock, CLE being some of the few. The only cut rifle geissele AR barrels that I know of are the 6ARC ones on the Stratomatch rifles.

That's what this thread is about the white oak cut rifled geisely barrels that I ordered and are out for delivery

I don’t see Geissle blanks on WOAs website? I’ll keep looking but if someone has a link I’d take the help.

    10-4. Thank you.

I must have conflated two posts as I was looking for the cut rifle blanks. I don’t see blanks on WOA or Geissele websites.

I've seen them on the Geissele site in the past, but they're not listed now. You could try calling them. Or, like @DeathBeforeDismount said, Drew at WAR Rifles usually has some in stock. Drew is good people and worth supporting.

ETA: It looks like Kurt Ives, another East Coast gunsmith, also stocks G blanks:

Yea this thread is specifically about the Geissele cut rifled AR15 223 wylde barrels.

WOA is the only place I've seen these to date. I ordered mine back in August or September and just got my shipment notice Monday.

People have been getting great groups with the chrome lined ones these should be even better

Can you contour a chrome lined one or will that mess it up. I want to have one fitted for a Ops inc can

I wouldn’t assume that at all given how long ago Bill talked about cut rifled barrels and some of their unique/proprietary cutters. It’s just been a super slow rollout from what I’ve seen.

I think it is accurate. I don't believe Geissele was doing the cut rifled blanks in house. They may have designed, or used, a proprietary cutter but I believe SSK was getting them off the ground.

I wish Geissele would offer these as factory AR barrels but they seem to have no interest in doing that. White Oak is the only company turning them into finished barrels and they refuse to offer anything besides the 20" National Match barrels. I honestly don't get it. Excuse my ignorance but is the National Match order volume really that high? I would think that a lot of customers would want barrels that are a more reasonable length, especially given the popularity of running suppressors now.

I mean you can buy a Geissele cut rifled blank and have any smith you want make any AR15 barrel you want.

No different then having a Krieger or Bartlein, etc AR barrel made like we've been doing before all these AR15 off the shelf barrels have become a dime a dozen

Here is the Geissele press release on SSK and cut rifle barrel capacity. I don't see the point in buying a Geissele blank unless it is cheaper than the usual players. A finished barrel makes sense though.

Hmm that does make it sound like G is making the barrels with no help from ssk.

G barrels have been getting great reviews some top PRS shooters use them

I finally got out today to get some rounds through this new barrel. We had a nice little warm up the past 2 days after some snow and cold temps... It was blowing a good 20mph today but not much of a concern shooting at 100yd..

To be clear, I did no load workup or anything.

I loaded Frank White's go to AR15 accuracy testing load he gave me many many years ago..

New virgin Nammo Tactical 5.56 NT brass
    Federal 205M FGMM primers
    52 SMK
    24.9gr VV N133
    2.255" COAL

I shot 50rd at 100yd with front bipod and rear bag from the bench.

The first 25-30rd were between 1" - 1.5" then it started to settle in..

    The next group after that first 30-35rd was a 3 shot 0.160" group, then a 5 shot 0.746" then a 5 shot 0.499" then a 5 shot 0.296" group...

As more rounds got down it after 30rd it really started to stack shots.. Velocity on the 52SMK 24.9 N133 was 3340... SD 12

Ill clean it tonight and try and get another 50rd down it tomorrow then Ill have 100pc of 1x brass to process and start load workup and testing with 77's...
