Good evening everyone ,
I’m looking for an aftermarket stock for a tikka Supervarmint in 223. I was considering the Bell and Carlson Target stock (CTR) as I also have a CTR bottom metal and mag. It’s gonna be used mainly for FTR / target shooting. Any help and suggestions will be great appreciated

Thank you

I do have an XRS and a ACC. I just wanted somthing a little more traditional. I’m just getting tired of the aluminum chassis feel.
I hear ya. In that case, I suppose budget will dictate what is available. I'm sure most stock manufacturers are inletting for Tikkas now a days. I have (2) Super Varmints - dropped the 7mm Mag into an Oryx and the .223 into the XRS -- thanks to the holiday sale. I wish the XRS had an inlet for Tikka LA, but I'm digging the Oryx so far as well.

The Bell and Carslon Target stocks are about 600$ up here. My only reservation is there’s not many reviews online about it. I would be curious as to what other companies actually have tikka inlet stocks. The major popular brands McMillan , manners etc don’t seem to offer the tikka inlets

I have a SV in the factory roughtech stock. Seems to be solid and the gun shoots well ( it’s a range rifle ). Having said that, it seems that most Tikka owners apparently feel it necessary to remove the barreled action and drop it into an after market stock. In doing so, can one reasonably expect significant improvement in performance?

That sounds rather high from what I remember seeing on B&C stocks, but it’s been a while since I was looking in that area. It does suck not being able to lay hands on most upper tier firearms, accessories, etc before buying. I did find several options you may be interested in --

I didn't have any particular dislikes with the SV stocks. I wanted an AICS mag conversion to load longer projectiles and more modular/rigid platform. Both were extremely accurate before the changeover -- I assume they'll shoot just as well or better when I take them out this weekend. "From what I've read", the lower trim tikka stocks are where most of the cost cutting occurs in the platform.

I guess I’m just trying to get somthing different. Different feel and look. Possibly trying to fix somthing that isn’t broken.
