Not sure if there’s a thread for it. But just picked up a bambulabs PS1 3d printer. Looking for some cool firearm/reloading/workbench etc stuff to make. What have you all made with yours?

I e printed a lot of stuff, but this is the only really useful “gun related” thing that I’ve made.

IS there a good 3d printing thread? Would be handy to print shit for binos, rails, and general fuckery. I don't beleive online reviews anymore so looking for some expert advice for a beginner on what to start with. DOn't need blueprints--need equipment (Punching the first person to PM me selling a printer)

This guy has some downloadable stuff on Printables.com

Click the "Reloading Tools" collection, for stuff that may be somewhat relevant to your interests.

Looking to pick up my first 3D printer just to dabble a bit and try it out. Any recommendation between these two:

BambuLabs A1
Creality Ender 3 V3 KE

These seem to be comparable entry level units….but I’m a complete novice when it comes to 3D printing

Bambu Lab is for absolute novices and toughly a gamachanger in 3d printing world , every one will offer clones in 2025
Skip Creality.

Is the Bambu Labs good, or bad?
Greatest thing since sliced bread.

Its just so user friendly . In the past most of us did a lot of thinkering ,upgrading ,optimising , here its just plug and play ,filament with RFID chips lets machine know which type of filament is in use and all the presets for it are ready , and then there is speed , an lots of it.

Another one to check out is Prusa. We have a couple at work for prototyping, they're solid and there's a ton of support for them on the web.

But, Bambu is a solid home/hobbiest machine from what I have read

I haven't heard a lot of great things about Creality.

I'm behind on the latest, but was looking at "multiple filament" machines as well as "resin" machines about a year ago. Back then I was leaning towards getting a resin machine, but then life took another turn and it all got derailed. Now I'm looking to start going back down that path....

Is resin still better for detail and surfaces and such? Who's winning this week?

I bought a Bambu P1S/AMS combo over the Black Friday sale.
Picked it up at a micro center in a depressed area with 1/2 sales tax.
$773 out the door.

My 1st 3d printer.

Our local Microcenter regularly has "open box specials" on Bambu printers and the only thing missing is usually the test filament. I got my X1C (complete with AMS) for ~$940. Around Black Friday, they had them for $100 less. I looked at a couple and they were only missing the test filament and popcorn stuff like the hex wrenches.

Some stuff I put up on Thingiverse a few years ago;

Have a bunch of these in my safe. Have printed them a different scales to hold pistols as small as a Baby Browning: https://makerworld.com/en/models/656967#profileId-584064

Google "Riptide Holster". They work pretty well with a good filament like PET-CF.

I have a couple of these printed out. Also work well with the right filament:

There are some good designs for case feeders and bullet feeders out there. Makerworld and Printables has some nice designs and a lot of other reloading related stuff.

FDM is more convenient and the filaments tend to be stronger, especially the CF ones. You can get 0.2mm nozzles, but they don't work with most of the stronger filaments. You can also print different materials at the same , so you could do something like embedded rubbery material in hard material. Here's an example of a Christmas ornament with color changes on the Bambu:

Resin is advancing VERY rapidly. I regularly print functional parts in Resione K+ and they hold-up. Detail is excellent, they look like injection molded parts until you get up really close. If things keep going at the rate they are, resin will surpass filament in terms of mechanical properties in the near future. You are still only limited to one material at a time though.

After farting around with this gridfinity stand for my A1 I personally can't see a place for it in my reloading bench. However, I'm starting to print other forms of organizers trays for my shelfholder, comparator bushing, etc. I don't subscribe to notion of when you open a drawer and every thing is in a nice neat tray such that it looks good in a magazine photo; I just don't see the ease of access with that. However, I do like components organized and in ease of reach for a quick "point of use". Here are a couple of recent prints to get stuff in order.

I persnally think the funnel for the chargemaster is my favorite as I no longer spill powder and as for the others, well...like I said it's quick point of use and easy. BTW- I made a lid for the funnel too.

Did you design or download the priming tool holder?
I designed it myself, although inspired by another design. I added the provisions for large and small primer adapters in the front along with "L" and "S"...simple, but effective. If I were to do it over again I'd located the primer tray infront of the priming tool as it would be filled with primers first prior to the priming tool.
