What rifles are being used in NRL H factory class?

I am looking at rifles to shoot in factory class. What rifles are being used competitively and why? I have been looking at the Seekins PH2 NRL, Savage 110 Carbon Tactical, and Tikka UPR. I have a Seekins Element in 300PRC and would get one in 6.5 Creed if the stock was adjustable, but it's not...Thanks!

Seekins hands down for the win in factory class. It is the best set up rifle out of the box and having a tt diamond is a win for sure. Just don’t be lame and game by getting the 6 creed like all the other gamers. Be a man and shoot a real nrl hunter caliber 😜

x2 for Seekins...

Tikkas are pretty great, but the 24" UPR would only leave you 3.6lbs for a scope & bipod. Certainly workable, but just plan ahead (brake, scope, rings, bipod)

I saw quite a few Bergaras last year, skip those. Many are priced like a Seekins, but machined like a #RR 700

Man...and I was just thinking that 6 Creed would be sweet! Now you had to go ahead and shame me! ...:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

I did! I think they messed up big time on that rule. The entire point of nrl hunter was to keep calibers like that out but then it was only a matter of time till someone figured out a loophole. My opinion of course there like assholes.

Maybe a different Tikka? I really want to get something I can shorten the stock on, and that's why I mentioned to Savage. It can go down to 12.75 LOP.

I see a lot of Seekins and Tikka's. Beware if you're going with Tikka - the barrels are typically slow, so it might be hard to make power factor in 6.5C if you're not shooting factory ammo (and care about PF). It'll be very tight to make weight with the 24" CTR, SV, or UPR if you're shooting a with a can, and the 20" versions will take an even bigger velocity hit.

Maybe I am wrong, but I thought factory didn't have a power factor just a case minimum? Hence the disparaging 6mm comments above:D

Factory doesn’t have to make PF, but it is used for a tie breaker. I would care more about narrower wind budgets @ range from velocity loss on a 20” barrel that might be relatively slow to boot

Tikkas have lots of free bore; mine is about 100fps slower than other makes. I’m working up a load right now. With 144 Bergers, even with a non-binder plane mag, I can only get within 40 thou of the lands.

Seekins 6 creed seems to be the answer if trying to game it best.
I mean, many of us are hunting medium and large game with a 6cm. Is it really cheating to use a cartridge capable of taking all but the largest north American game? I know it's the loophole that you're taking issue with, but the cartridge is a legitimate hunting cartridge.

I killed a shit ton of deer this year to some pretty long distances with 22cm and 6cm. So no it's not cheating. They're trying to keep these rifles from becoming 6dasher 12# race guns. Or they're fn fuds who think if you ain't shooting at least 6.5 the bullet will bounce right off that mule deer.

@wind gypsy knows 6mm kills deer just fine.

Have you ever looked at the hunting pages on Facebook?

They are full of idiots who think a 30-06 is about the smallest thing you should ever shoot a whitetail with.

I watched about 5 of them once telling a guy that his 6cm was irresponsible, while agreeing that the smallest cartridge you should use for small deer is a .243. They all agreed that a .243 would cut it, but a 6cm wouldn't. In fact, anything that said creedmoor on it should be illegal for hunting deer or larger.

It’s not about what will kill an animal. Most of us do hunt with small calibers myself included. It’s that the nrl Hunter series implemented power factor for a reason and letting one class circumvent that rule is kinda lame. Just cause factory ammo is made with a label for hunting should not matter. Any moment now 6gt and 22arc 6arc etc etc etc are all going to fall in line with that loophole. In my opinion that’s when if not already nrl Hunter goes down the same path as all the other series of who can game it the most and that fucking sucks. As a major fan of NRL HUNTER me personally hope they nip it in the butt however only time will tell.

Well I killed a handful of deer with 6gt last year. I know guys using arc. Might as well just call is 12# field class and let em run what they bring for open light, and factory is just that.

Yeah, no.

The entire point of power factor was to keep the light 6mm cartridges out of the game.

I have a buddy who's killed a truck load of whitetails with a 20lb 6mm BR. And another that's killed just as many with a 5.56 AR. That doesn't mean either rifle belongs in the game that is NRL Hunter.

I didn’t take issue with anything. My post was just for the OP or anyone looking at factory class that the seekins 6CM seemed to be the best option for someone wanting to maximize scores. I do find it a bit odd that NRL would allow smaller cartridges in factory class as its not like a factory 6.5 creed chambering is hard to come by but it doesn't bother me.

My primary hunting rifle is an 18” 6 creed.

Isn't there a case dimension limitation as well? Will those meet the minimums?

Would a 2nd hand waypoint in 6.5 with a cf barrel be worth trying to use for factory or are there better options used. Trying to around 1200ish. I intend on shooting a match factory and then selling the rifle
