If you want to use another optic the mount for these are still being made today. The ever pragmatic Finns used the mount for the Valmet/Tikka 412/512 shotgun/combination/double rifle. These qd-mounts are rock solid and handle recoil from a 9,3x74 double rifle set on a 412. Today the mount looks like this, Optilock for Valmet 412: (rings are 1", 30mm and 34mm in several heights)

That would be, essentially, the same optical system that is built into a standard Steyr AUG. I presume that it has finer adjustments than the ludicrous 50mm @100m for the AUG version. Cheers from NZ🇳🇿.
I’ll find out, it shoots low and left but ran out of daylight. I believe it was never fired until me.
