Any preference on brand/style of tool to cut internal 1/2x28 threads?
I have been doing 5/8 and larger with amazon special insert tooling and thats been hard enough to get perfect. (Im still green).

I havent sharpened HSS yet so i would prefer an insert tool if possible. The one parting blade set i tried was aweful and the insert model worked great.

Find a real tool store. Yeah, it can get expensive. But, you'll find people that can sell you what will work and then go from there.

For what it's worth, it's amazing how many professional machinists will just buy a tap. Especially for something so small, it's hard to get a rigid enough boring bar setup with inserts inside less than .5".

PICCO ID threader from Iscar.
maybe available on Amazon etc?

Inserts on that small of ID is difficult.

I just grind my own from solid carbide.
If you want to Pm me maybe I can make you something that will work?
