I have become a shorty snob and now I am really interested in the 6.5 PRC. I was wondering a few questions before I decide with or against it.
1.) What length would you recommend and are you going with the 1/8 twist?
2.) For those that have done it, what kind of length are you reaching accurately?
3.) What grains would you suggest and what’s the velocity you are receiving?

I have a 22” proof carbon 1/8 twist on an impact action. I’ve shot to 1000yds with factory eldx I get 2920 avg fps. I haven’t really worked up much of a load yet and from what I have worked up can be sped more as I was only getting around 2850fps. With 140 bergers

Thank you. I’m wanting to go with like a 16-18” barrel.

I built an 18in 1/7.5 twist proof carbon 6.5 SAUM (close enough to 6.5 PRC), shooting Berger 140's at 2870fps. Shot in a few NRL matches and some team matches out to a mile. I didn't feel limited at all accuracy wise, only downfall was recoil and spotting impacts under 400y with unstable positions/ props. Manners LRH, ZCO420, Origin action, Tbac ultra 7, CKYE Pod double pull, sits at 12.5lbs.

I went down the short barrel rabbit hole as well for my suppressors in a deer stand.

17.5” barrel (24.5 with ultra 7)
1-7.5 twist
123gr hammer hunters over rl26 at 3230

It’s now for sale as I have started shooting 7saum’s.
