So while I originally was ready to move with a Tikka, (thanks again to all who offered advice) I stumbled across this deal yesterday. I planned on dropping it into a KRG and finding a good scope. It's going to be a little over my budget but it will slowly come together. I read about the Osprey barrel on their website but does anyone know how big a difference there is between that and the OEM barrel? Specs on the tube are 24" and MTU profile. Also run a can on it. As always, I appreciate any insight from fellow goon squad members....😆

If it says OEM barrel I would assume they are referring to the Aero OEM which is Ballistic Advantage.

Youd be right if we were talking about aero barreled action....but OP is asking about PVA's deal. Pva isn't associated with BA, also I doubt BA is making their own barrels. More than likely they source blanks somewhere. PVAs deal is offering calibers/lengths/and contours not available from aero/BA. I don't want to speak for bohem, but I bet the only common thing between their barrel and BA barrel is they fit on a solus. Op, here's just a 5rd group shot with my pva solus deal

Theres a dmr2pro on that rifle now. I also added an area 419 defiance bolt handle and a bolt knob from them.

I rolled the dice on the oem option, at the time didnt know who's blank ot was, and it's a 22creed so it's gonna be around for 1000rds....maybe. Wilson, shilen, rock creek are all fine and work great for the price.
I like your style, it’s a barrel burner so why go premium as long as it’s shoots because it’s got a short life expectancy

It's not really rolling the dice. I've had 4-5 pva barrels, rock creek to osprey and whatever this oem is. I've never been disappointed, so if pva engraves their name on it, I'm good with it!

Pva 6.5prc barrel....a better shooter probably could have more 1 hole groups, but not a bad target for beginning load work-up

I’ve currently got three of their barrels in rotation and never had an issue, but if I did I know Josh stands behind his company/product.

We don't use any BA barrels here. Our Solus barreled action OEM's use Wilson, Shilen, or Rock as we can get them. Right now we don't have any Rock's in stock so depending on what's orderred it will be a Wilson or Shilen. They shoot very well or we wouldn't use them.

The Solus barreled action deal for Black Friday uses Ospreys for the term of the sale. AKA it's a slightly discounted base price but it includes the Osprey custom shop upgrade for free; IE it's about a $350 discount on a $1500 option set.

Well nuts! I went to scoop up a .223 Wylde B/A last night, finally got my financial folder in order...and they are sold out! May just go back to the Tikka varmint, but really wanted to slowly build this myself and maybe learn something along the way. Deep thoughts from my shallow service rifle mind....:(:ROFLMAO:

Maybe @bohem can give you some input as to when his new shipment is set to arrive? Might let you go ahead and pre-order if you contact him directly...

Right now we are waiting on a shipment of 30 actions, Aero has said "we're a little behind on shipping" but we haven't gotten a hard date on when they're supposed to arrive.

That sounds like they're giving yall the same treatment as us regular (non-dealer) customers... I hope 2025 they get this shit figured out. Not sure what happened up there, but I hope they figure it out soon. They used to ship my stuff out that day, or next business day, prior-to summer 2024. After that everything went to shit.

You should hold out for the solus barreled action from pva. Or just source a solus action and buy a barrel from them. If you do source an action I think you’ll have to get the bolt head for 223 and I imagine that is probably the hard thing to find right now but they will eventually be available. I plan on building my kid a 223 on a solus action soon.

Yeah, it's disappointing to wire money with the promise "they're in stock and ready to ship" and now a month later still nothing.

What a bummer. I had wanted to pick up the PVA parts based on member testimony and coupled with the fact they have a member here who is always ready to chime in when asked. I reckon those prices and quality would be hard to beat. Any suggestions where I may find something comparable?

We are just waiting for the actions to come in and the lead time is still unaffected for those people who've been waiting since Dec 1st, we quoted them 6-8 weeks and it's still projected on time. I know I'm biased in that it's our work and my business, but I don't think you'll find something comparable for even 25% more money than what we're offering.

To everyone else: Good news, they're saying 2 weeks til the rest of the action ship so nothing should be late and we have the barrels almost all done already.

I bought one of their solus PVA (I believe osprey barreled) deals last year in 6.5 prc and it is a hammer. It a 20" mtu that I run a 4" supressor. Shooting hand sized groups at 1025yrds...10/10 would buy again.
