Used to shoot handgun silhouette, one range was in a cow pasture. Cease fire calls for cattle on the range were not uncommon. I once took a shot on a ram at 200 meters with a 7mm TCU when a bird sitting on a cow turd took flight just in front of the target. Bird exploded in mid air.

I recently found a box of TCU brass and bullets. Has to be 25 years since I shot IHMSA.

Had the brass accelerator jet/nozzle fall into the #3 cylinder of my 66 bug once. Made a small mess. View attachment 8580740
Had a similar thing happen years ago. In 1974 I bought a 74 Super Beetle off the showroom floor. Fast forward to 77. It started making hellacious noise. Pulled the cylinder head and yep something had gotten into the combustion chamber. Never did figure out what it was or where it came from cause it had been hammered into a BB. I replaced the cylinder and the piston. Deburred the pock marks from the cylinder head as best I could. Drove it like that for another 7 or 8 years 😂 Loved that car

So it wasn’t from bullets being fired in the air. Well technically bullet had to travel through the air. I can buy the ricochet explanation.
well, the box says that a 22lr can travel 1.5 miles......

When a bullet is fired in the air and comes back down, it has only around 150 miles per hour and 1% of the energy it originally had when fired1. Despite its small mass, a bullet can cause severe internal damage and even death due to its concentrated energy2.

I'm going with 'ricochet', or passed through a wall or window.

I present to you the hardest headed person on the planet. This guy clearly has to be a member here on the Hide, probably a mod with a micro penis.

Had a n adolescent in ER who was screaming she was shot in the head
All she had was a tiny midline hairline minimally bleeding wound. So she was sent Xray. No one thought she was actually shot in the head., and the chief came the busy ER and asked. “Who sent a gunshot head to X ray with no. IV and alone?”
Seems the 22 bullet was midline in her brain in both XRay views. She was admitted observed and sent home after 2 days.
Lucky. Or she fulfilled the first rule of trauma:
The survivability of injury is inversely proportional to to one’s use to society. BTW. This was 1974.

A young girl was killed in Kansas City several years ago from celebratory gunfire...........I believe it was the 4th of July.............a shot into the air, hit her in the head on the way down.............there is now a state law banning such gunfire..........named after the young girl...........

My site ram got me good a couple weeks ago. Had a bruise shaped perfectly like his head from my thigh to my knee. He was evicted yesterday from our property to a neighbors until we need him to breed the ewes next fall.

We were also surprised with lamb triplets yesterday morning. Another ewe should lamb in the next day or two. So he was working pretty quick for the first night we exposed him to the ewes. Expecting 4 more ewes to lamb, hopefully closer to March though.

The little white lamb with the black eyes is cute. We named her Tina Turner. 🤓
