That's what worries me the most in the modern age.
Not that stupid politicians will make stupid laws, but people will follow and enforce laws they themselves know are wrong and/or stupid.
It doesn't matter what country in the world it is, it seems cops are all the same.
Whether its throw you in prison for a stupid tweet, shoot you with your own gun at a traffic stop, remove stickers from your car, shoot you through the front door of your own house, all these situations the cops walk away with their head held high known they did there best and were just following orders.

Three things;
-many people from the UK, Europe and the West in general did exactly the same and have been turned on by their own Government.
-The US is just as bad, how many people have fled from Blue states/Cities to Red ones for the exact same reasons.
Americans are lucky enough they effectively have 50 different countries within the USA they can easily move to if their state goes down hill, as can business just move to a different state.
-The US has been the breeding ground for many of these terrible ideas, and many even worse ideas. So don't think the USA is a shinning beacon of hope for the world. Maybe it will be again but in the past few decades it certainly has not.

The fact that the UK, Australia, etc. lost two generations of men in WW1 and WW2 may have led to the current immigration issues. Same with EU
Probably been longer than that. I think when the generation that had a "stiff upper lip" and held off the Germans passed is when the UK started its downward spiral. I don't see the UK recovering..
