The Sportsman Division

They will never give up control it goes against their self interest

Back in the day when we tried bringing everyone together it was made perfectly clear at that point, this was theirs and nobody was gonna tell them how to do it

They will always help the inner circle before anything else,

Well just messing around piecing stuff together and managed to piece a 13lb rifle together that balances quite well surprisingly. It is 12lbs 15.7oz with a 20" Hawk Hill m24 with a TB CB brake... torqued to my NBK, in a Manners LRH with a 5-25 Mark 5HD.

Guess it can be done... now to make a load for it that better at longer distances then the 139 Scenar load I typically shoot in this barrel.

His way of putting more money in his pocket.. not making the sport any better
More mavericks would absolutely make the sport better and making a rule set that would stifle development in the industry should not be part of the sport.

This dropped yesterday and may be of interest to some here... Maverick info starts at 33:00

I would be quite interested in seeing where the balance point sits.
.3 Oz under the limit isn't practical.
20" 6.5 Creedmoor barrels aren't practical in my world because this 13lb rifle needs to make nrl powerfactor w some buffer and not top of the load.
I'm still in the camp that the only way to achieve proper balance, easy fps and sub 13# involves $1200+ barrels ( carbon or heavily fluted) . And probably 20 ish oz actions.
Seems like utilizing nrlh weight cap for heavy would cover a lot more rifle setups that already exist and are more economical to run.

22" Remington varmint factory barrel on a factory 700 action, 5-25 vortex strike eagle (2 oz lighter than Leopold 7-35 mark5) with NF rings, a 7075 20moa rail from someone, Griffin two port brake/suppressor mount, harris bipod with geryops arca mount came in at 13 pounds 14.2 oz in my Gen 2 MDT AAC chassis.

Switching that out for a CRBN MDT stock and the heavier of the two DBM's would drop that weight by 2 1/2 pounds leaving room for a mag and enough room to use a 23-24" steel barrel

Well the rifle actually makes power factor with Berger 144s pretty easy.

41.1gr of H4350 has it around 2660fps with a SD of 3. In Peterson brass.

Make a total weight division with shooter fully clothed plus gear minus ammo has to weight no more than X pounds.

Skinny shooters get heavier setups and fat shooters get lighter setups.

Or a Cars Don’t Exist division where nobody is allowed to return to their vehicle to grab extra gear should something go wrong.

I am not against suppressing sound as I shoot mostly suppressed, however I don’t see a need to have a division for it.

Just putting together the rifle for this and NRL Open Light. T3 6.5 CM, Hnt26 folder Arca, 24” IBI carbon, MDT comp brake, Athlon Ares ETR, and MDT mountain light bipod to come. It is my basic hunting rifle too. Prone across the field for fun I can use the 18lbs 300, but I have no desire to carry that pig around.
