Precision Rifle Gear MPA Ultralite Experience

I run one for my hunting/ NRL hunter setup. I like it. When weight is no issue I prefer the BA comp. But honestly it feels damn near identical to the BA comp. I'm on a deer hunting trip with it right now

Love mine. Zero flex. Use it for my 22in 7SAW anTI Bartlein 3B. Perfect balance. If you worry about flex, it’s a much better purchase than the MDT HNT26. Shot a bear this fall with it standing using a fence post with a bag at a distance of 175m. Neck shot. DRT.

XLR element would also be a good choice but I’m not a huge fan of the smokes carbon fiber stock.

Pork Sword for short barrels subsonics but I dislike the plastic buttpad, I 3d printed a better one in TPU.

HNT26 I use for my light recoiling rifles, currently have a 204R but I’ll switch to a 22GT for the wife and kiddo.

I love mine, zero flex and mine folds, bought directly from MPA so I could get it exactly how I wanted it...and they offer a nice military

discount.

Anyone have any real world total weights? I like that the folder locks on my MPA chassis vs my XLR. Sold my Manners and want to get a chassis and would like the MPA but it seems pretty heavy compared to another XLR, especially the magnesium.

Have a LP Razor Ti with Bartlein cf I’d be putting in it.

Here is Ultralite MPA chassis with Bergara B14R, carbon wrapped barrel. Comes in at 9lbs even with RAZOR LHT and LCi mag (empty). Bipod would add some weight to help balance, although it is still butt heavy with the short barrel. I figure centerfire will come in heavier and more balanced. Fixed, not a folder.

As you see my rifle configured (300 Win Mag & Vortex Razor HD LHT 3-15X42) in the picture above, the total weight (no magazine inserted) is 11lbs 15.7oz.

I looked at them hard before I decided on an XLR magnesium. If the goal is to be ultralight in a chasis, they really missed the mark. The Hnt26 and the XLR magnesium are significantly lighter and seem to accomplish the same thing. I've never fired a HNT26, but I have friends that love them. The XLR is hard to beat when weighing all of the options, (weight, durability, shootability, attachment options, locking folder.etc).

Thank you. I always have a suppressor on and between my NF and Trijicon scopes I feel like I’d be over 13lbs probably. Would probably be great for NRL hunter so I may still consider it. Even though I’m not backpacking, I think a 11lb rifle would be great for walking around down here in the swamps.

Well I took the plunge and put a deposit on an ultralite with folder yesterday. I really like my other MPA chassis that I have and using a steel action I’ll never make <12lbs for NRL Hunter so I decided it was worth it. I think a perfect hybrid would be XLR with MPA folder.

I have a folding version. I really like it. There are not many choices for lighter weight folding chassis. My only complaint would be that the cerakote is thin AF. It's all chipping off the arca rail.
